Re: New to this Forum

When the PT presses and it causes tenderness, she said it was at the OI muscle and that the muscle is tight. I do not have sitting pain, so does it seem likely that the muslcle is putting pressure on the nerve? It is a possibility. If it is the case when your muscle relaxes the pain should go away ...

Re: New to this Forum

The pudendal nerve runs near the OI in the alcock's canal. Any tenderness there? Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's the muscle or the nerve in this area. I think that the alcocks canal is partly formed by the fascia of the obturater internus muscle itself. So as Violet says it is hard to tell whet...

Re: A Headache in the Pelvis Clinic

In February this year the latest Wise Anderson Protocol study was published in the Journal of Urology. This study tracked patients that attended David Wise's clinic based at the Flamingo Hotel previously held at David Wise's home. A video about the study is based on David Wise's website. The slide t...

Re: Had clear cut diagnosis through nerve blocks

It is great the nerve block has helped you with one of your symptoms. If you have urinary urge you could try pelvic floor physical therapy first. I am not sure if there is anyone that will be able to do that in Delhi. Hopefully there is. You may have tensed up your pelvic floor in response to an agg...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder

This disorder was mentioned in a presentation by Beco at the International Urogynecology Association 2010 conferance held in Toronto. If you go to 12 minute 12 seconds into the presentation he talks about it. Of 4 patients that were operated on for this disorder he claims to have cured all 4. http:/...

Can meditation be bad for you?

I am sure many patients have been told to try meditation for chronic pain. I always assumed there was no negative aspect to meditation and have used it myself. However these articles provide an interesting view on the practice of meditation. I am sure there are counter arguments but they are an inte...

Re: Psychological factors - endometriosis

Why is there such a stigma associated with CPP as compared to most other illnesses? It might be because as far back as ancient Greece there has been a belief that there is an intimate connection between pelvic organs and the mind. In ancient Greece it was believed the female uterus sometimes became...

Re: Dr. Wise publication

Seems like a really high drop out rate. Wonder why? This is a common tactic to produce a desired result and has been employed by drug companies in the past. Simply allow people that are not responding favorably to drop out of the study and follow up those who are reporting positive results. In Wise...

Re: Acupuncture

I wish people all the best if they find acupuncture helpful but personally I don't see any evidence for it. If people find it helpful it may be because of a dry needling effect - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_needling These articles discuss acupuncture. http://skeptico.blogs.com/skeptico/2005/05/...
