Re: Does Dr. Filler accept insurance?
I agree that the sample sizes for Fillers studies are small. However find me a study in the field of pelvic pain that does not have a small sample size. Fillers studies are peer reviewed although I don't think that counts for a lot. http://journals.lww.com/neurosurgery-quarterly/pages/articleviewer....

Re: Newcomer shares her story and seeks advice.
I would have a 3T MRI with Dr Potter or MRN scan done so you can asses what is going on in there. I think you would be better off spending your money on this, Bear in mind that there is no evidence that myofascial/ trigger point physical therapy is an effective treatment for pelvic pain. It usually ...

What Neurologist did you see Tracey?TracyB7777 wrote: My family is willing to drive me up (I only live a little over 2 hours away). My neurologist didn't even want to test the Pudendal nerve when he ordered the SSEP, I had to insist. Now when I go back to him in December I'm going to insist on the MRN.

Re: accountability
Your right that is the only controlled study that patients have to go on when embarking on myofascial type PT treatment for pelvic pain. It was not even a full scale study but rather a small scale feasibility study. The patients were tracked over a very sort amount of time. There is no evidence whic...

Re: PT vs PNE doc
So here's my thinking... if I don't want PN blocks or surgery right now and I am going to have to travel (fly) to see a PN specialist then maybe I should just fly to a really good PT like Stephanie Pendergast? It's a ton of money, but so is flying to see a PN doc and if I do that I'm still going to...

Re: A critical review of myofascial/trigger point treatment
Charlie, I'm just wondering what kind of PT you received. In answer to your first question as I have said I went to the A Headache in the Pelvis clinic. I tried to self treat for a short while after this. I personally feel unless you are regulary seeing a pelvic floor PT to guide you self treatment...

Re: Trying Again
I am just very grateful for the physical therapist who discovered I had PNE because without her, I could still be lying on my couch with no life. Violet , I agree that it's fantastic that your Physical therapist diagnosed you with PNE and I understand why you are grateful to them. I would be as wel...

Re: A critical review of myofascial/trigger point treatment
One approach that may be effective for 'trigger points' (whatever they actually are) may be Dry needling. This approach is favored by Dr Chan Gunn, the founder and president of the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain in Vancouver. Gunn argues there is more evidence for this approach than s...
