Violet M wrote:Charlie, I have what I would consider to be ligament pain sometimes too so I think I know what you are talking about.

Good luck as you pursue the surgery option -- we will be cheering you on. ;)
Thanks Violet. Interesting that you sometimes get a similar type of pain.

Re: A critical review of myofascial/trigger point treatment

Thanks for posting that Charlie. I couldn't listen to the whole 36 mins (can't sit that long) but what I heard was quite interesting. In your signature, you say that your muscles are fine now. What kind of pain are you having then? Burning when you sit? Yes it is a long presentation to listen to. A...

Re: Nantes Study on the ST and SS ligaments

Hi Violet I think the counter argument would be that the study was performed on cadavers and of course cadavers cannot report pain. What I would say to that is that the study still demonstrated that instability was not caused by the severing of the ligaments. Perhaps severing the ligaments does caus...

Re: Cymbalta and Lyrica or Neurontin

I have been taking 2400mg of Neurontin for several months now. I have widespread myofascial pain in conjuction to my PN pain. The Neurontin had been controlling my myofascial pain better, but the past month things have gotten out of control again. I started Cymbalta 30mg this weekend, but I had a h...

Nantes Study on the ST and SS ligaments

There has been a lot of discussion on the ligaments recently. I have posted below the Nantes study on the ST and SS ligaments published in 2008. I think this is relevant information. There are counter arguments but people can form their own judgement on it. Are sacrospinal and sacrotuberal ligaments...

Re: Enbrel for post surgery pain

Enbrel is a very powerful drug and I think people should be aware of the dangers of it. People have died from taking Enbrel. http://www.aboutlawsuits.com/enbrel-120/ Another great concern is that Enbrel can actually cause nerve damage. http://doublecheckmd.com/EffectsDetail.do?dname=Enbrel&sid=1...

Re: A critical review of myofascial/trigger point treatment

Below is a case study presented at the International Urogynacological Association in Toronto last year. It describes a 52 year old woman who went to see a physical therapist in Chicago who advises against PNE surgery. The patient must have eventually given up on physical therapy and went on to have ...

Re: Surgery in Houston

I think what you're saying here, Charlie, is that by doing the decompression through the ST ligament in order to preserve it entirely, the nerve is decompressed from any tethering or fibrotic/scar tissue that may be around the nerve. But, if the compression was due to the mechanical action of one o...

Re: Surgery in Houston

Hi Charlie, Great to see you here as always...I assume that you saw at the end of the controversial locked ligament thread, that Dr's Antolak and Conway are repairing the ligaments with a methodology different from Dr. Hibner's? It is intriguing in that it does not involve grafting. It's always nic...

Re: Surgery in Houston

I am very grateful to both forums and like most people use both. I don't have an issue with either forum. I think some disagreement on a forum is healthy and it certainly does not bother me. PNE is a terrible condition and we should be supportive to people once they have chosen a surgeon. In regard ...
