Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

I never got around to the nitro patch, but a PT gave me some exercises to rebuild the hamstring/adductor, and I believe they have helped a lot. It's important that any exercise to rebuild a tendon be "eccentric", not "concentric" (see sports medicine). In other words, you engage ...

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

Thanks, Paulette. I actually never got around to trying nitro patches, as I was better for several months. Now, with a return of the pain--and hearing of your success!--I might try the patch...

Re: Vanessa Frank's book: Living With Pudendal Neuralgia

I havent' read her book and have no idea about what kind of aqua therapy she recommends, but swimming and water-walking every day just about for the last 2 years has made a world of difference for me. My pain is reduced substantially.

Great Primer on PELVIC STRUCTURE

This is one of the clearest videos describing pelvic structure that I've seen:

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

Oh, so sorry to hear the surgery made things worse! My symptoms actually started with cramping in my right foot and then moved up the leg and into the pelvis. I too have pain in the right perineum and under the right butt cheek. The pain was so awful about two years ago that I was almost suicidal. G...

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

Oops, I didn't read your post carefully enough (still groggy this morning!). Of course, Lidocaine is a vasoconstrictor, but Nifedifine is a vasodilator, like Nitro. Apparently Tiger Woods and high end soccer players favor the nitroglycerine patches for their tendinosis. Perhaps the headache issue we...

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

I didn't know that lidocaine works by bringing blood to the area; I'll have to look that up. I used lidocaine patches for a short while about 18 months ago. I thought they were just for anesthetic purposes. (Didn't help anyway!)

Re: Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

Nitro patches are supposed to actually help heal the tendinosis, acccording to reputable scientific studies. I haven't yet talked to my doc about writing me a prescription so I can try one. I know they tend to cause headaches, so I've been a little reluctant. But I don't know what else to try!

Hamstring/Adductor Tendinosis and PN

Much to my surprise, my Potter MRI showed tendinosis (degeneration NOT inflammation) in these tendons as the main problems. I have typical PN symptoms: cannot sit at all, or bend; pain in the perineum and deeper in; occasional painful spasms of the pelvic floor. I'm mentioning the tendinosis, as it ...
