Re: Just feeling sorry for myself

Hey Laura,

When my pain was at it's worst, vacuuming was out of the question, and mopping/sweeping were problematic. Those chores would all cause flare ups. Definitely pace yourself with those tasks! I never used the grabbers, but I hear they're great. Hang in there!

Re: Other neuropathies not in the pelvis

I have no clue as to predisposition to other neuropathies. However, I definitely get mild carpal tunnel from time to time...mainly from computer usage and the way I sleep. I've started wearing wrist braces for typing and sleeping when it flares up and it really helps! Is this an option for you? Lauren

Re: Technique Q?

Celeste, Thanks for your reply. Dr. S and I have had many a discussion about my bad block experience, and the only conclusion we really came to was that perhaps there was the small possibility of a nicked nerve. As my case has progressed (not with intensity of pain, but just progression of time) I'm...

Technique Q?

I had flouroscopy guided PN blocks done in 12/09 and 2/10 by Dr. Shobeiri. To my knowledge, he performs them as he was trained by Antolak. I've had lingering issues on my left side ever since. Don't these injections have to pierce the sacrotuberous ligament to reach the pudendal nerve when performed...

Re: Big News, Medication Taper and Why

Oh, Cora. This has just been a horrid process for you! I am so so sorry for this nightmare. You are so kind to put all this information out there for the forum, because you're right, people need to know there is a humane and dignified way to do this. I'm glad you've got a glimmer of hope with this s...

I only have a minute, but I'm going to briefly tell you what I would do if I were you. Feel free to ask more questions and I'll come back and elaborate. --stop sitting, which it sounds like you're doing a good job of this --cease all exercise with the exception of walking on a flat surface or swimmi...

Re: Vaginal Ultrasound Pressure Pudendal Nerve?

Emily, I don't know about a pediatric probe. I'm sure they exist, but your doctor may not have one in his/her office unless he/she sees pediatric patients. Definitely worth calling and asking.

Re: Vaginal Ultrasound Pressure Pudendal Nerve?

Hey Emily, I've had vaginal ultrasounds, and they're not comfortable for me, but I'm not sure how much of that is PFD/PN stuff or endo adhesions. Never have caused a flare though...maybe just a couple of hours of discomfort. However, I'm able to have sex and use the occasional tampon, so we are diff...

Re: SOUTH AFRICA -Need guidence and Advise for Patient

I had hoped the International Pelvic Pain Society would be a good resource, but it doesn't look like there's any listed providers near you. Here's the link: http://www.pelvicpain.org/providers/find_provider.aspx Are there pelvic floor physical therapists in your area? They are capable of doing a tho...

Re: Hip pain

I have always had lateral hip pain (pain on the side of the hip). About nine months ago, it started radiating posteriorly and kind of pinching when I walked. I developed a chronic dull ache just posterior of the greater trochanter. About six months ago I developed a deep groin pain that radiated ou...
