Re: Choosing a Surgeon
Paulette, If you can afford it, I agree it might be advantageous to see Dr. Martin, even if you don't pursue surgery with him. Like I said, I don't doubt his surgical abilities. He is THE arthroscopic orthopedic surgeon in this region, although it seems he has only done hip arthroscopy and piriformi...

Re: Choosing a Surgeon
Paulette, So, Dr. Martin plans to only decompress the pudendal nerve by cutting away at the obturator muscle? While I'm sure this is a feasible idea, and I don't doubt his sciatic decompression experience, what if the SS or ST ligaments are part of your problem? Will he be able to see this endoscopi...

Re: Hip pain
Hi Lernica, I'm one of the hip pain people. My right hip has bothered me since my teen years, so for about a decade or more. I first remember it hurting in eighth grade while playing competitive tennis! Over the years, I've been diagnosed with several things: IT band syndrome, bursitis, weak adducto...

Re: Dr. Hibner Pelvic Adhesion Surgery
Hey Emily, I just had a pelvic laparoscopy last month to clean out endometriosis and adhesions. I had the surgery on a Wednesday and returned to work the following Tuesday. I felt completely 100% normal at two weeks post surgery. I can't comment on long term pain relief yet, but I wanted to let you ...

When walking on the treadmill, be sure to not program an incline. Have you tried swimming? Good luck.

Re: Living with PN and teenagers
My eldest got into medical school! She'll be starting at a very reputable Ontario school in the fall. I'm so proud and happy for her. She worked very very hard for it over the past four years in a difficult B. Sc. program. So there's at least one more PN-aware doctor coming up in the ranks! This is...

Re: Living with PN and teenagers
Its not so bad for you. How about living with PN as a 25 year old who will probably never get to have a family or a wife now because of the penile pain. At least you got to live your life somewhat. Not that im downplaying your case, but I just woke up one day and this pain appeared out of nowhere, ...

Re: Neurontin side effects
Hiya Faith, I took Neurontin for about three months. I was also on Baclofen and Zanaflex at that time, but whoa did I have brain fog! I would be standing in front of my students lecturing and just completely lose my words. I wouldn't be able to finish sentences! Actually, those months are pretty muc...

Re: Letter written by an ER doc
A friend shared this with me the other day. It's very encouraging, and I'm thankful the doc took the time to write and send this letter.
