Re: Hysterctomy with pn

(Sorry, have had major issues getting on the forum) I'm so sorry you are having such problems after your hysterectomy! With my nerve entrapment meds did not help much at all, not enough to make the side effects worth it. The only thing that helped was surgery. I havent been able to do PT since my su...

Re: Do you have trouble walking?

Yes, I had a horrible time walking before surgery. Over the years, it got increasingly worse. Went from walking to limping to almost falling with each step. Went from cane to walker to rolling walker to manual wheelchair to powerchair. Now, post surgically I am walking unaided most times. I occassio...

Re: Hysterctomy with pn

Your welcome! I wish you all the best. I hope you find something to help you and that the PN is helped by PT. Although still disabled, I am so much better than I was before surgery. I have a long way to go but I can see the light so to speak. I hope that one day I will be able to go back to some wor...

Re: Hysterctomy with pn

Ohhhhhh, I'm so sorry it didnt help with the PN. I have a noticeable improvement in lower back/sacral pain, significant improvement in walking and improvement in bladder function. I am just over 3 weeks out now. I hope these improvements continue. Although I can walk "better" I still canno...

Re: Hysterctomy with pn

Oh my goodness!! Well, it sounds like it was a mess in there and they did what they could, where they could. I'm so glad they took care of all that! and yes, I surely hope you would not require any further surgery. I'm sure you are so happy all that is out though, WOW!! I imagine it has made an incr...

Re: Hysterctomy with pn

Thanks Lernica, if you dont mind me asking...why in the H*$%* did they do yours vaginally if you have PN? My PN doc insisted that I NOT have it any other way but the da Vinci to prevent further PN damage. My PN PT does not allow me to have any penetration at all, I cant even imagine them doing a vag...

Re: Hysterctomy with pn

Hey :) My hysterectomy went well. It took about 4 hours, robotic assisted lap ie da Vinci technique. Went home the next morning. I initially had increased PN pain but it was probably from positioning and being cathed for the surgery. The spike only lasted about a week. I have found that the hyst has...

Re: Possible new seat board idea

Ok, he emailed me and said that there would not be any change in design for us other than if we decided to cut a bit more out of the back (our front) lol. I am going to make one and see and will let you all know :) Katherine

Re: How Did Your PN Begin?

Mine began after a horseback fall. I had had a previous surgery at L5-S1 for Congenital Tethered Cord Syndrome which required a bi-level laminectomy to get to the spinal cord. With those two spinous processes missing I do not have as much protection there and of course that is exactly where I landed...
