Re: Progress with Dorsal Nerve Decompression
Great news George. I would say that not requiring any medication and being able to ski for an entire weekend with minimal ill effects is a VERY good outcome after just 6 months or so! I am about 6 months post-dorsal nerve decompression surgery too, but there is no way I would be able to ski even jus...

Re: Surgery/treatment dilemma
i suggest you contact prof. aszmann and seek his advice. he is not a man that gives up and i truly believe in him. I do stay in contact with him regularly, but his opinion is fairly steadfast. I am just exploring what other options I may have. I have already had surgery with him, and he seems very ...

Re: Surgery/treatment dilemma
Have you had a pelvic floor PT evaluate the state of your muscles yet? Yep, about 1 month after the chronic pain started and as I was in the middle of the initial MAJOR flare. She found all my pelvic floor muscles down the left hand side were very tight with many sensitive points. After two months ...

Re: Surgery/treatment dilemma
Why would they (Dellon?) be considering removing any nerve branches though, as opposed to just decompressing them? Dr Dellon did not specifically say he would remove the nerve, I assumed that is what he meant due to his cryptic statement of 'would you prefer numbness over pain', but he would not cl...

Re: Surgery/treatment dilemma
Ok, so 5 months post-op from dorsal nerve release surgery and it is looking more and more like it has not been successful. Sitting tolerance has been gradually decreasing again over the past 2 months, and general day-to-day groin pain has been increasing, despite increasing my medication dosage. <si...
Re: Dr Dellon
What do you propose now PN_down under? What about ketamine, would you try that? I have not really thought about it. Australia is VERY far away from OS specialised treatment, and therefore very $$$. I don't really have any other options unfortunately. I can understand Dr Azmann's approach too howeve...
Re: Dr Dellon
What was entrapping your nerve? Thank you A's! As I understand it. The nerve follows the pelvic bone and is held in place by a 'sheath' covering while allowing it to slide up and down with the movement of the body. An injured nerve regenerates, but grows in size. Mine had grown to twice the normal ...
Re: Dr Dellon
As devastating as it is for me to accept this, unfortunately my experience after dorsal nerve surgery with Dr Aszmann seems seems to be mirroring the 'outcomes' experienced by Ali and Ezer. As told to me by Dr Aszmann, surgery found a tremendous compression of my left dorsal, and "100% my probl...

Re: Surgery/treatment dilemma
Hmmm, it is hard to say exactly. I can say that the nerve seems to have more tolerance than before surgery, and I had no significant nerve pain after surgery until a day or so ago. The one flare I have had was from helping a mate to move some heavy furniture and things for a couple of hours. Probabl...
