Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Karyn Thanks for your best wishes. My job also involves being on the phone for periods of time, so my work have sorted me out with a bluetooth headset that plugs into a normal landline phone, so I can go for a wander away from the desk if need be. Wonder if something like this might help you with...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi everyone Romaine - thanks for posting, as with a lot of us, mix of good news and bad news, hope the nerve blocks are sorted out for you soon. Always good to have a doctor that cares about the patient and takes your pain seriously - it makes a real difference. Another month or so in, so thought it...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi everyone Thought I'd provide a progress report, given I'm now at 9 weeks post surgery and had my follow-up with my surgeon Mr Wong on Friday. I'm recovering well from the surgery, if slowly. I'm getting more mobile each day, still can't really bend very much, and whilst I can get into a sitting p...

Re: Dr Chris Wong

Hi Hetty Good that you're able to walk a bit, can't be much fun being laid down most of the time. Without wishing to sound like Chairman Mao, even small steps are worth recognising as achievements. I have got one of the cushions you've got, which I bought chiefly on the strength of Calluna's post ab...

Re: Dr Chris Wong

Hi Hetty I hope the course of nerve blocks work for you. I also had a course of three blocks, and whilst they offered no/little pain relief, it did at least confirm the diagnosis of pudendal nerve entrapment, which the surgery has borne out. Do let us know how you get on. I'm recovering slowly, stil...

Re: Dr Chris Wong

Hetty I had PN decompression surgery in Bristol just over a month ago - Mr Wong was my surgeon. I found him good to deal with, he explained in a very clear and matter of fact way what was going to happen, gave me plenty of opportunity to check my understanding and to ask questions. He also came to s...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi So now a week post surgery, thought an update was due. Still trying to get as much rest as possible, and not overdoing things - the gradual wearing off of the anaesthetic on the wound area is certainly helping me rest, especially over the last couple of days. Constant nerve pain still there, actu...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hello everyone Have been back home for 24 hours after surgery on Wednesday. Surgery seems to have gone as planned, surgeon told me that the nerve was 'significantly' compressed, and also had to be released 'carefully' from the falciform ligament, which prolonged the surgery. Anyway, the news is so f...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Thanks for your best wishes, much appreciated. Not sure who the anaesthetist will be, hopefully will be Dr G, as his presence for other procedures I've had has been reassuring. But if not, I know the Frenchay team have a good reputation, and my limited conversations with Mr Wong so far all make me f...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Calluna Thanks for the update - your length of stay in hospital is interesting, as the surgeon has suggested I'd be in overnight only, but the nurse that did my pre-op assessment suggested I could be in for at least 2 or 3 days. Which I guess comes down to everyone's recovery being different. I w...
