Re: Two years post surgery - next phase

Hi A little while since I've posted on the forum, so a bit of an update. I had a caspacin/Qutenza patch applied in early May - a little uncomfortable, but not quite as hot on the skin as I thought it might be, in fact the worst bits were driving home (wouldn't recommend driving unless you only have ...

Re: Two years post surgery - next phase

Hi Violet I definitely wouldn't describe my pain as 'burning', nor do I have any issues sleeping, I don't know how you can cope with pain levels like that, I'm terrible after one night of disturbed sleep. I'm hoping to find something that means I avoid having to be on pills for an indefinite period,...

Two years post surgery - next phase

Hi everyone It's been a while since I last posted, but thought it was time for an update, especially as things have changed in the last couple of months. Having had decompression surgery in October 2011, I've taken 60mg of duloxetine (Cymbalta) per day since then to help manage any pain and give the...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi everyone Thought it was about time I posted again, now a year post surgery. Would say I'm pretty much recovered from the surgery, and life is getting back to a degree of normalcy. Continuing on the duloxetine, and am scheduled to do so until next June, when I see Greenslade again to consider what...

Re: PN Surgery at Bristol halted due to funding.

Hi I'm seeing Dr Greenslade for my next check-up on June 20, so if this issue isn't resolved by then (what do I mean, if?!) I'll get an update. Fingers crossed it's sorted out soon, I could have gone privately for my surgery, but know that it isn't an option for everyone suffering with PN or PNE, so...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hello Peaches - firstly, sorry to hear about your job situation, I hope you find something that works for you. As for your question about having the surgery, have to say I didn't think twice about it - meds hadn't improved things, trying just to cope with the situation wasn't working, so anything th...

Re: Need support for surgery please

Hi I'm doing OK thanks - I've posted quite a bit on the 'post surgery recovery' thread on the 'Surgery' part of the forum if you want to see what my journey post surgery has been like, I've tried to post something every 4 weeks or so. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow, get as much rest as you ca...

Just wanted to add my best wishes for tomorrow - I had surgery 5 months ago, so know how you're feeling. Hope it goes well, let us know how you're getting on when you're feeling up to posting again.

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Karyn My sciatic type pain emerged 3 weeks after the decompression surgery - you'll see earlier posts on this link suggesting that this was to do with the piriformis muscle being disturbed. Physiotherapy got rid of this after about 3 weeks, and hasn't really returned, unless I've tried to do too ...
