Re: If medication, what medication?

Painful Man, If you are able to bear the cost I would suggest a combination of Lyrica and Cymbalta to help manage your pain. I second the suggestion of others that the sooner you manage to exert some control over your pain the likelihood that the level of meds required will be lower than if you wait...

Re: How did you get SSA Disabilty?

I got disability even though I have two masters degrees, 40 plus years of increasingly higher levels of employment, etc. I once was the Director of a Vocational Rehabilitation Center, another time I was the Director of a Small Business Development Center. And there was a vocational expert was testif...

Re: Testicular tingling. PNE?

Elmwood, A long post I know, please bear with me. I know what you mean, the tingling can drive me crazy also. My scrotum, like electric current coursing through the lining. Sensations running back and forth through my penis at times, kind of racing. If I sit too long, like last night. I fell asleep ...

Pelvic Varices

I had a 3T MRI done by Dr. Potter 1/4/2012. One of her findings was that "At the pelvic floor and dorsal margin of the penis there are markedly dilated varices ... compressing the dorsal nerves to the penis bilaterally, left greater than right." I have noticed the discussion as to whether ...

Re: Cymbalta

Hello, I do take 180 mg of Cymbalta each morning. I reached some pain relief at 120 but more at 180. I also have taken up to 1500 mg of Lyrica at the same time, now 600 mg. I find that the 180 mg dose of Cymbalta also remediates much of my depression symptoms, secondary to severe sleep disturbances;...

Re: Lyrica dosage

900 mg of Lyrica a day for me.

I had managed to get down to 600 but I am in a major flare and may need to go back up to 1200.

I also take 180 mg of Cymbalta a day.

Re: Sensation of penis retracting. In the end I chose to describe this sensation as "gnawing." A note: I am hearing a lot of what I will call squabbling on this forum. None of my business, I suppose. But, when I first encountered the pain that I learned to associate with this disorder. The...

Re: Delayed Pain

I think often I can get involved in doing something to the degree that I disregard or ignore the soft signals my body sends to let me know a bigger signal is to follow. You know engaged in something intellectually, physically even, instead of just waiting for the next shoe to fall. I often pay later...

Re: How Did Your PN Begin?

I had some symptoms, mainly discomfort (strange sensations) in my penis for a few years. Probably related to constipation problems related to childhood abuse by father, secondary; side effects of medication for depression, etc. PN problems really started about 2 months after a fall on my buttocks in...

Re: chronic fatigue disorder

I take 108 mg of Concerta each morning to deal with fatigue. Concerta is timed release Ritalin and has helped me immensely. My main goal in trying Concerta was to heighten my alertness. I drive, use power tools, climb on my roof etc, if needed. In doing so, I had 3 falls, 1 slight car wreck, and oft...
