Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi Lernica, You and I have chatted over email a few times, I saw Dr. Andrew also and you were so kind to prepare me for what to expect. Unfortunately, I did not have any improvement after seeing him for 2 separate week long sessions. However I did find the take home stretches to be helpful. If you l...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

So great to hear Lernica! I know it was a long and tough road. Really happy for you. Here's my update: I had labral tear surgery November 2014. I was found to have Psoas impingement, the psoas was too tight and stretched over the hip capsule, rubbing and causing the labrum to tear. All went well wit...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi Julia, I just happened to read your post and we sound so similar that I had to reply. I also had a regular MRI done on both my hips and the results were normal. My GP wasn't convinced with the results and consulted with a colleague in Edmonton who said that a High Resolution MRI would show a hip...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi everyone, I posted on this thread over a year ago trying to figure out if my PN could be caused by a hip issue. Long story short, I pursued other treatments and am just now looking into the possibility of a hip tear again. I had a regular hip MRI that showed everything was normal. Trying to convi...

Re: Weather

Yes, I posted this same question about 1 year ago! I feel much worse on damp, overcast days. It is really noticeable. My pain goes from 4/10 to about 6 or 7/10. I am sorry that you all experience this too, but glad to know that I'm not imagining it! Anyone have tips on what to do on days like this? ...

Does Anybody Limp?

Hi all, Drove to the grocery store today and as I was walking from the parking lot to the store entrance, I stopped dead in my tracks (nearly got hit by a car!) by the sudden realization that I was limping! My pain in the last year has been a bit more under control with medication and lifestyle modi...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Thanks Fall Girl for all the helpful information you shared! I see Dr. Gordon also so I will ask him for the referral at my next visit. The hospital in Oakville told me that they will not do a hip MRI without xrays first. Was that also the case at Mt. Sinai? Just trying to figure out what order I ne...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

I am going to ask my physician if he can order the MRI with contrast to check for hip tears. Does anyone know of an article that I could bring him that explains the connection between pelvic pain and hip tears? He always looks at me like I'm crazy so the more information I am armed with the better!

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Thanks for the information Jackie, I have been following your experience with interest! I had an MRI of my whole pelvis early on in my PN investigations, Dr. Andrew said that he thought this would have picked up any hip issues. But isn't it true that I need an MRI with contrast? Or, someone who know...
