Re: looking for signs of healing after surgery
Hi Ellie, It took me about 3 months to start feeling better from surgery. To feel as good as I am now, I would say it had to be in that 9 month area. You are right. People have surgery and others think you should be well within a month. LOL. Just let them know you had nerve surgery, which takes much...
Re: MRI AGAIN
Hi guys, I had an awesome PT, back when I was doing PT. She had said that any injection, any needle, any cut, causes scar tissue. So, I do believe that Ali is correct. If you have a PN block, then you will be developing scar tissue around the nerve. No doubt about that. Now, if the nerve is inflamme...

Re: Psychology
Hey Pianogal,
You are so sweet! Thank you for such a warm welcome!
I have the time to be on the forum and I really want to be like I used to be on the forum. I sometimes come back and then leave, but I have this feeling that I'll be back on the forum for good now.
Take care,
Wendy

Re: How the world changes for a PNer
Hi Sunil, Keep up your great perspective on things. Having a good outlook (which sometimes can be hard to do with PN), can be helpful. Some docs do look at women and men differently. They sometimes can look at women with pelvic pain and they think "she must be neurotic" and with men, they ...

Re: MRI and scarring
Hi guys, The unilateral thing becoming a bilateral thing is very common. I don't know, but a really long time ago, I had posted a study that they had done on rats in Boston. They had cut the major nerve in the rats left leg, to see what would happen. Now morally, I think this is unethical, but the r...
Re: MRI AGAIN
Hello Missingmylife, There are others, including myself, that have had problems with the injections. Being able to get to the nerve with a CT scan takes alot of skill. If you are not within 1mm of the nerve, then the blocks won't work. If you get to close, you can knick the nerve or hit the nerve. T...

Re: MRI and scarring
Hi guys, This is a very interesting topic. I think that the MRI's can be used as a diagnositic tool in helping to define where some of the probable causes of pain could be. I would imagine that there could be some people out there that do have scar tissue in the same areas that we do and maybe even ...

Re: Cymbalta? Tramadol?
Hi Paulette, I am not up to date on the MRI's and how well they can see things. A stretch injury would definitely be tough to see, unless there was something like the PN being attached to an area that it was not supposed to be attached to. But, that is something that I would love to hear from the do...

Re: Can stress make PN symptoms worse?
Hi Mom, Stress can definitely tense up muscles and if the muscles are tense, they can go into spasm. When the body is relaxed it can help with the symptoms. If your daughter is stressed (which I can't imagine she wouldn't be with all that itching), I am wondering if some sort of relaxation therapy w...

Re: Psychology
Hello, I really have to agree with everyone here. It is your decision on whether or not to go and see a psychologist. When people go and have neurostimulation done, they have to pass a psychiatric exam in order to have the unit placed. There have been many studies showing that the more depressed you...
