Physio - how often?

Hi, looking for bit of help. Have tried physio before with limited success but to be honest gone into it a little half heartedly. Decided to give it final attempt before going for surgery. I had previously been seeing last physio every 2 months because of distance. How frequently is it recommended f...

Re: surgery

Hello painful man, in response to your comment. Private treatment is far less regulated. If you are seeing Dixon on the nhs you are on fairly safe ground. Seeing him privately gives you virtually nil redress. Taking advice from a professional rather than someone on a forum is clearly good thinking. ...

Re: surgery

Hi Andrea, I echo Alans wise words, often pn sufferers haven't got much in the tank to deal with increased pain after surgery never mind the psychological effects. Alan mentions the key questions you should ask any surgeon. He is right. A capable surgeon will be more than happy to answer and have no...

Re: surgery

Hi Andrea, good advice from Helen, it has to be your choice. I disagree though not to consider this issue of a consultant recommending sgy just for the money. I think it goes on far more than you think and needs to be debated more on here. Nhs is closely monitored. Private treatment isn't.

Re: surgery

Andrea, apologies, I think my last mail was unfair. I said in a earlier post my opinions are irrelevant as it's about the facts and your decision. The last post I sent was very much my opinion. You need to make the best decision for you. You need to make it not me or anyone else. Your pain is unique...

Re: surgery

Andrea, pls don't give up. Reading your story I could tell you are a strong person. Allbeit a strong person in pain. Get surgery out of your head. It would not of helped you. I felt certain of that from the moment I read your post. That's why I had to say something. Focus on managing pain, get med r...

Re: surgery

Hi Andrea, Just to correct Molly, Bill Taylor was not trained by Maeve whelan or Ruth Lovegrove. He knows them well and has run courses with them but Bill was trained in States by Stephanie Prendegast seen widely as one of the leading physios in the world on PN. He states he has also developed a tec...

Andrea, just seen a good experience had by calluna on forum. If she is better then might be useful to get another perspective other than my own. L

Re: surgery

Hi Andrea, sorry am causing you concern. Wasn't my intention. I don't think describing what happened to me would help you other than to say my pain has worsened. I maybe a lone voice of failure amongst many success stories they have had. This is the forum to at least ask any success stories to come ...
