Re: My struggle and journey for the last 2 years. Need help
Hang in there. I'm in Australia too and recently had Botox injections which caused a big flare up as well. My flare ups usually go away but sometimes they can take a long time.....like a few months.

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney
I see Dr Peter Georgius at Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. He is very pudendal neuralgia aware and was recommended by the Sydney clinic. Lyrica can be helpful. Trouble is the side effects at the higher dosages. It seems you do need the higher dosages as well to have any effect on PN type pain. I do not...

Re: Surgery did not work
Ezer,
You were exactly right! The Botox has made my pain worse it seems. I had it done in December and still quite flared up.
It was worth a go I guess....long as things return back to my usual pain levels eventually!

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney
Yes I should see Peter again sometime. I went to him about 3 times but it was too far for me to travel. I do have his pelvic exercise program to do at home. Oddly enough I have a tender right SIJ yet my rectal pain is left sided... It's worthwhile to see Peter though as in addition to treatment he c...

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney
Paul, I found physiotherapy gave me some relief as well. Unfortunately it was more of a manageable tool rather than a cure. After a while since stopping physiotherapy my painful symptoms came back. I was given a pelvic floor wand to release the muscles at home but I couldn't seem to achieve the same...

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney
Dale, I have just had Botox injections about 3.5 weeks ago. So far for me I've not noticed much difference in pain. Maybe my bowels work a bit more easily. What cocktail of meds are you on? I am on Targin and Lyrica. How many units did they give you? They gave me 100 units I think. My pain is mostly...

Re: Not sure if I have PNE or fissure-related pain
I had the LIS surgery for an anal fissure and still have the rectal pain as well. Keep up the softeners and best of luck! I have suffered with it for about 3.5 years now. I think it's probably bad habits of the pelvic floor muscles from surgery. After all the trauma they have learnt to stay spasmed ...

Re: Shockwave therapy in Australia?
A physiotherapist once mentioned to me about an internal tens machine. Not sure if that would be the same thing but could be looked into.
