I have tried this medication in the form of 7 day patches. It comes in a brand called norspan and comes in 5mcg/hour, 10 and 20s. Although its supposed to be safe and non addictive, I found it had little effect on my pain whereas the oxycodone based medications seem to help take the edge off it. It ...

Another thing with Valium is that you tend to quickly develop a tolerance for it and will require higher and higher dosages to get the same effect. I find it is very effective for the painful spasms, however I only use it when I have really bad flares when the lyrica and tramadol are unable to contr...

Kathyd, I have tried the nerve block as well and I found much the same thing. Steroid injection as well, didn't really help me. It certainly numbed most of my areas down there but failed to stop my burning rectal pain which is by far the worst of my symptoms of the lot. I have tried Physical therapy...

Physio guy i am seeing is based in Maryborough but is originally from brisbane. James Rossiter, He follows a lot of peters programs for physio after prostate surgery...He is treating me for SIJD following peters directions

Psoas and Iliac muscle pain

Does anyone also have symptoms of pain in their psoas and iliac muscles just above their hip? Just wondering if its also a possible area for the nerve irritation?

I found valium works really well but from what ive read the withdrawl effects can last such a long time ive stoppped taking it...continously anyway I also found its a bit of a double edged sword in that it works quite well but dampens yours enthusiasm for doing things....I felt it made me quite drow...

Sunil,

I think physio is very worthwhile when you have had multiple tests/specialist visits with no answers. At least its affordable and non-invasive being safe.

Otherwise what options do we have beside pain management? or a trip to Sydney

Yeah its a process of elimination as well really....I have been identified as having problems with my right SIJ in it being much more restricted in movement than the left side. Peter has actually seen me once before, I just need to follow up with my current physio and start getting the manipulations...
