Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

I wouldn't be able to recommend anyone Violet. I have been to nearly all of the people mentioned in the post above yours, which was very difficult because of the travelling involved and also very expensive. I've spent most of my savings on useless treatments, some of which have made matters worse.I s...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

Violet, As you know very well, I asked for evidence that Dr Durtnall's methods are effective for Pudendal Neuralgia. Eventually, after many months you supplied a link to his own study that is about coccyx pain. "Eighty-seven consecutive patients who presented at a chiropractic clinic with coccy...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

The paper is entitled : Manipulation for coccydynia His research says this : "Eighty-seven consecutive patients who presented at a chiropractic clinic with coccyx pain". I'm not clear what this has to do with pudendal neuralgia. A high proportion of these people had suffered an injury:&quo...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

What evidence is there that Dr Durtnall's treatments are effective for PN or PNE? You say he is Pudendal Hope adviser, so could you ask him to advise you then? Is the only evidence the anecdotal accounts published on these forum boards or is there something else? Has he explained to you, as a Puden...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

There are some published studies showing that physical therapy/physiotherapy/massage is useful for PN. There is a lengthy discussion on these boards about the evidence produced by Dr Wise for example. There are some studies published about the type of injection given by doctors such as Dr Baranowski...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

Another point: I do understand what you've said : your information on Dr Durtnall is merely information and not advertising, and I understand the distinction you draw between a recommendation and a "Hope Adviser" but from the point of view of someone in pain who is desperately looking for ...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

The key word in your post is "considered". So I would ask: considered by whom, and using what criteria? The only two considerations you've mentioned would put a lot of people in scope. Anonymous contributions to a forum aren't empirical evidence, so that's why I asked what evidence there i...

Re: Dr Michael Durtnall

Dr Durtnall is a "Hope Advisor". I asked quite a while ago how he came to get that title and what the selection process was. No reply so far.

Re: My experience of Restorative Exercise

Although I stopped doing the exercises and stretches I was given for Restorative Exercise some six weeks ago, I still have much worse pain than before and now have trouble sleeping because of pain. I wish I'd never heard of Restorative Exercise.

My experience of Restorative Exercise

This relates to my own experience only. It may well be the ideal treatment for others but I'd like to say what my own personal experience has been. After much thought, I contacted a very well qualified and accredited practitioner. I did this with some trepidation, as some other treatments in the pas...
