Re: Manchester, UK
Hi Helen, When I first attended the pain clinic at the National Hospital for an appointment with Dr. Curran I assumed she was Dr. B's Registrar but she is, I think, a consultant in her own right in anaesthesia. Anyhow, she made my clinical diagnosis by pressing on the pudendal nerve vaginally and sh...

Re: Manchester, UK
Dr Natasha Curran is the lady who clinically examined me and diagnosed my PN/PNE 2 yrs ago at the National Hospital in London, and put me forward for nerve blocks under Dr. Baranowski. Very competent lady (obviously! and approachable, I'm not surprised her name has been put forward. Bristol, Manches...

Re: Office chairs
I think we all should get together and devise a chair with a toilet seat basis! Can't be that difficult surely! Or a chaise longue padded with memory foam donuts :), so we can sit or recline gracefully as we choose, with a side table for the laptop. You're right Chris, I have one of those posture kn...

Re: Physio for PN
Hi Chris, I've had a great deal of success with triggerpoint massage (not injections though, JeanieC, see a bit further down :) ) until I recently well overdid things digging the garden up (am such an idiot ). But for 7months i was virtually painfree and able to sit and drive for several hours...

Re: Looking for answers
Hi Jewels, welcome to the forum. One of the main symptoms of pudendal neuralgia is if you experience pain or tingling or burning anywhere along the perineum when sitting. If your pain is made worse by sitting, but is better on a toilet seat, that's a fairly strong indication of PN or PNE. You can't ...

Re: severe morning fatigue and anxiety
Sometime my anxiety overwhelms me .....How do I calm my anxiety without meds? You have my total sympathy, Michena. There is definitely a way out, without meds, that's the first thing! Meds are useful in the short term but aren't the be all and end all, you need to learn how to help yourself whereve...

Re: Cannot lie flat on back
:D Helen you are so funny! I always preferred to sleep foetus-like on my side (no thumb in mouth!) but due to leg muscles being full of triggerpoints from thigh to knee I had to try to sleep on my back, only to find my sacrum wouldnt let me  . Violet knows I was wishing for 2 elephants to swin...

Re: Cannot lie flat on back
Hi Faith, Mine was at the ST too, and couldnt lay on my back at all. Didn't like anyone to even tentatively brush the lumbar area when standing up. My sacral pain was radiating centrally, in about a 6" diameter. Now that I'm having a flare up of PN symptoms (see post today under Success, with a...

Re: laptop-just sharing my happiness :)
Ahh, that's interesting pianogal! I'm getting an EEE too as my desktop pc's crashed, glad to know you love yours! I'm having to craftily filch my son's laptop to keep connected till the EEE arrives. Got to have a pc of some kind, it's a lifeline in times of trouble (and when are we not troubled!). H...
