Re: constipation

Concentrated prune juice with additional Sorbitol was more useful for me than the macrogol sachets (same as your miralax I believe). I had boxes and boxes of those, plus Senecot, but was getting nowhere for 3 months till I had the prune juice. Did sound like I had deep plumbing problems for a while...

Re: Has anyone had symptoms go away for months only to reocc

Hi Sarah, Yes, my symptoms went right down just like yours for 7 months after I triggerpointed tight muscles, but they returned after digging the d*mn garden up so I think that proves my PN is not mechanically entrapped but muscle related. Possibly your pelvic floor therapy soothed triggerpoints in...

Re: If medication, what medication?

As Violet says some antidepressants are used (in a lower dosage) for nerve pain. Amitriptyline is one that's often prescribed.Your GP would need to prescribe these in a much higher dose for it to have any effect on depression, so don't worry it doesn't mean he/she thinks you're neurotic. If you've ...

Re: Sacral pain - is it torsion/SIJD?

Excerpts from 2 emails received from the osteopathy clinic today: 1st (gentle) osteopath: "I feel that the flare up was probably due to the shearing movement put through your SIJ joint" ~ Absolutely! 2nd (senior) osteopath, who did the 'shearing movement': Whereas its not ideal that you a...

Re: I'm back - things have changed (a little)

Danny, if you have some compression or even atrophy of your gluteal muscles, then that would eventually cause you pain on sitting. I know because I have pain from this as well as PN pain. Obviously continuous sitting compresses everything, reducing oxygen and blood supply to your buttock muscles, s...

Re: Sacral pain - is it torsion/SIJD?

Sleep really does make a huge difference. I wrapped Lernica's healing wishes around me like a psychological blanket, found 2 x 2mg diazepam, took the ibuprofen and cocodamol, and slept for 8hrs solid. Amazing. I feel rested but fuggy, more positive, and ALSO, my PN pain is down a level to 5/6! Way ...

Re: Sacral pain - is it torsion/SIJD?

Apparently being unable to take a breath or move even an eyelid muscle on waking is not apnoea but parasomnia (I still don't see how the two are distinguished). Do you know Lernica, I'm getting past caring much which doctor was right and if he's wrong it will become academic anyway. Pain level is c...

Re: Sacral pain - is it torsion/SIJD?

Cyber hugs very much appreciated, thanks guys Lernica, strongest things in my meds cabinet are Panadol and ibuprofen ~ unsurprisingly they're not touching the pain. If I could just get a night's sleep I could face the next day better, as it is I am really struggling. Had 4 years of very little slee...

Re: Frustrated & struggling newbie!

Is it just me who finds other people's lack of understanding frustrating? I find the most annoying thing is being asked how my 'back' is  , despite clear evidence of cushions with large holes in the middle. A clue wouldn't you think? Evidently not! Glad you're feeling more positive, and excel...

Re: Sacral pain - is it torsion/SIJD?

Update: Went for 2nd osteo appointment today, with a more senior osteo. The senior guy said to stop the exercises I'd been given at the previous appointment as at the moment exercising could just worsen the existing problems, but then he proceeded with some quite agressive joint manipulation .. :? ...
