Re: Intro for new MN patient diagnosed with PN

Hi, Mel. I am so sorry for your pain. It sounds like you have a complex history. I read about your experience with Dr. Antolak. I also am a patient of his and opted for injections. The third injection appears to have helped me more than the rest. The jury is still out as it was only 11 days ago! I t...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder

Jim,
Wow, what great news! Any idea what brought it on? Did things progress to this throughout the week?
I think my third injection is starting to help me now. I also think it helps me tolerate and benefit from the PT.
I hope things continue to improve for you!

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder

Jim/Rita, Hope you are doing well, well enough to enjoy the week of 70 degree weather we have coming up. Ice out in March, unheard of in this state!! I thought I would check in with how things are going for you. I had my third injection last week. It did calm things down a bit. My sessions w/Beth ha...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder

Rita, So glad to hear that! So you think it is some type of neuralgia and not entrapment? I always think - how can anyone ever know if they are entrapped or not until they actually undergo surgery and someone cuts them open to see? I do think PT is soooo important. You should definitely try that rou...

Re: Has anyone been cured and if so HOW?

Lernica, thank you so much for sharing your experience and this information. This is very encouraging. I am not particularly concerned with the follow up of stretching and massage since being overzealous has usually been my problem.

Re: Has anyone been cured and if so HOW?

Hi! I have a question about the shockwave therapy. This sounds very interesting. Is it primarily helpful for breakingup scar tissue from surgery? I am sort of confused by the procedure b/c I would think most of the areas of entrapment are not reachable externally. Also, I did some googling, is this ...

Re: CT guided nerve blocks

My cousin is a neurologist who went to Duke Med School. She recommended the nerve blocks (with Antolak) and also has been in touch with several urologists she knew in school who routinely send their patients to Antolak with great long-term results. My orthopedic also has several patients who have ha...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder

Jim/Rita, I have learned stretching is so counterproductive for this issue over the last year. It feels so good while you're stretching, but then you pay for it severely. I wish there were some exercises I could still do but everything is pretty much impossible for me at this point. I can't even wal...

Re: any benefit to nerve block at alcock canal location?

Hi, Debbie. I have had 2 blocks so far and the second one helped me more than the first. I am doing poorly again and have my 3rd Alcock canal block in 1 1/2 weeks. I am glad I went through the blocks for diagnostic reasons as well as for some pain relief. Other docs make you jump through a bunch of ...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder

Jim, It's good to hear of your progress. I have my 3rd injection in two weeks into the Alcock's canal. I have tried but I cannot understand the diagrams or make any connections as to where my entrapment may be located. I just know it was affiliated with running, squatting and very tight adductors. D...
