keeping medication down

A common initial side effect of the medications we all take is nausea. I have just been put on Cymbulta and told to expect 3/4 days of nausea to ride out. On speaking to a family friend who was diagnosed with Parkinsons at a young age she was told her meds would make her ill for a few weeks at the s...

Re: Tramadol questions

Thanks Janet. Makes sense. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.
My PT says he has had other PN patients with the same pain pattern so I guess there are other PN sufferers out there in the same situation as me.

Tramadol questions

A couple of questions for the tramadol users. My GP put me on a starting dose of 50mg twice a day for bad PN rectal pain. It does nothing for strong pain but if I'm lucky enough to have mild pain it reduces it a bit. The effect does not happen until at least 2 or more hours after I take the dose. It...

Re: medical marijuana help?

I don't have the information on it to answer any of these questions. Probably all on Google somewhere. I believe its taken orally as some oily liquid which tastes pretty bad. In Australia its the Federal government that's ok'd its use and I believe all the states have agreed to pass the same laws so...

medical marijuana help?

Hello all Now that medical marijuana is going to be legalised here does anyone know if it might help PN pain. From the little I have read the answer seems to be no based on the few overseas forum posts about it .But that may mean it just hasn't helped some people. Like all pain meds, some people get...

Re: hypersensitive nerve pain cyclel

Thanks Nyt I was on to most of those things but the squatty potty is a suggestion I will follow up. As for avoiding things that trigger the pain unfortunately in my case that is usually a morning toilet visit (bowel motion) so I just can't avoid it. My PT says this is not uncommon and I think I have...

hypersensitive nerve pain cyclel

I have had one bout of PN which my PT said was caused by the nerve being stretched over part of my SIJ that had become immobile. After some treatments he remobilised the SIJ but said the nerve and its branch rectal nerve had become hypersensitive and set up a pain cycle. He said it would eventually ...

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney

Thanks Allan I'm on the gold coast and the drive to Peter Dornan can be an ordeal on bad days which seem to be most days at present. My pain is starting to make me reclusive which is not fair on my wife so I really need to look to some pain management. Can you tell me the pain management doctors you...

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney

Thanks Allan My pain returned after I stopped PT also. I am now seeing Peter Dornan in Brisbane again. As you probably know his theory is pudendal nerve problems can be caused by a dysfunctial SIJ. Altho' the joint can be fixed the pain cycle remains due to nerve hyper sensitivity so thats what I th...

Re: Chronic Pelvic Pain Sydney

Hello Pafin I have not posted on here for a long time as PT reduced my PN pain to managable levels and I have had a somewhat reasonably normal life for about 18 months. Like you I had burning anus pain. To my alarm the pain is returning so I am off to see the physio again next week. I have never tak...
