Re: Can anybody help in Wales / in general

If you are thinking of physiotherapy I would suggest you try Dr Ruth Jones. She is based in Eastleigh (which is between Winchester and Southampton) but people travel from all over the UK to see her as she is an expert in her field. Even if you feel the distance is too much it is worth contacting her...

Re: internal physio

Hi Poppy I'm not sure if the Thermwand Magic wand is the same as the wand that Ruth Jones recommends. She recommends the Ez Magic Wand for working on the internal trigger points. I ordered mine from http://www.icrelief.com and it came very quickly. I agree with Lara in that you would need some guida...

Re: Need a PN aware Physio

I have been seeing Ruth for a few months now and just thought you might find the following points helpful. Make sure you are quite clear what it is you need Ruth to know about your pain problem before your appointment. Take notes with you, many medical appointments have taught me that makes sure I s...

Re: London or Bristol?

I just wanted to add that although Catherine can be very dificult to get hold of I have always found her to be most helpful and very pleasant to talk to. Just be aware that it make take days or even a couple of weeks to get a reply but it's certainly worth the wait as Dr Greenslade is such a lovely ...

Re: AT WHAT DOSE OF PREGABALIN/LYRICA DID YOU GET PAIN RELIE

I think it varies from person to person. My experience has been that it wasn't until I got to 200mg per day that I began to notice a slight change in pain. I am now taking 300mg a day ( 150mg twice a day) which has made a noticeable difference. Dr Greenslade wanted me to get to 600mg a day as he tho...

Re: lyrica/pregabalin causing weight gain & bloating

Hi Andrea I have been on Lyrica - 150 mg twice a day for about 18 months. This dose has made a slight difference to my pain levels but I haven't been able to increase the dose because of some of the side effects. I have got used to the problems with poor short term memory and difficulty recalling th...

Re: Dr Greenslade/Mr Wong

Very interested to hear about your problems getting hold of Dr Greenslade. I have been seeing him as a private patient for over a year and getting hold of his secretary has always been hit and miss. At my last appointment with him in June he changed my meds and told me to let him know via email abou...

Switching from Pregabalin to Gabapentin

I saw my pain management consultant yesterday to review my progress with Pregabalin. I explained that as I increased the dose I got increased swelling in my calves and ankles during the day, plus I was having increasing thread veins in my legs. He said that both were known side effects but less comm...

Re: surgery

I contacted the clinic in Winchester where Ruth Jones practises last week and she is still available for appointments there. Maybe she has also gone back to seeing people in Southampton as well. Dr Grenslade mentioned her when I last saw him but he did say that he didn't know anything about her apar...

Re: STILL HAVING PROBLEMS CONTACTING THE BRISTOL TEAM

Glad you have got a reply at last - I think it good that Dr g rang you himself. I have to see him again in April or May as a private patient and am beginnnng to wonder if I should start trying to get hold of Catherine now! I have had problems before trying to make an appointment but once I have got ...
