The insurance company has a whole list of treatments that one must have failed before they qualify (ie failed 2 courses of antidepressants, being treated by psychiatrist, other things). I was quoted a price of $13,000 for initial treatment with annual boosters required in the $3-4,000 range. THis is before insurance. As of now many insurance with cover this treatment for depression but not chronic pain.

After reading your story, I decided I am going to arrange a consult with Dr Shernin Towfigh. She is a hernia specialist who I read about and she is right in my area at Cedars Siani here is Los Angeles.

I live in the LA area. My understanding is this group works more with IC / prolapse patients. But Dr Hall is very respected and in my opinion it wouldn't hurt to have a consult with them. I am re-considering the same after seeing your post.
