Re: pain suppositories

You do not have to wait to go into the water if you use the suppositories rectally- but would have to if you use them vaginally- they melt and some of the suppository will come out of your vagina. I am a physician and use the suppositories vaginally and rectally- they work very well when I have seve...

Re: Botox and Nerve Blocks... Very confused.

Lindsey D I am a physician and a PN patient. First I want to ask, if you had nerve blocks, were they helpful? Nerve blocks alone are for diagnostic purposes. A physician can and often do add a steroid to see if that helps with the pain- decrease inflammation. Botox is added to release tight pelvic f...

Re: Abstract - Pudendal Neuromodulation for Pudendal Neuralg

I am a physician and a patient suffering from PN- I had a neurostimulator placed by Dr. Ken Peters, author of the study. As with all his patients, I had an initial 3 day trial to see if neuromodulation would work. With the trial, my pain was significantly improved. However, once the permanent was im...

Re: mri question

David,
Just wanted to add that my obturator interns used to be excruciatingly painful. Since we started to focus on the SI joint, I have very little pain when my PT palpates that region- just a thought

Re: mri question

Hi David- What type of injections are you planning to receive? To be honest, when I am in severe pain, there is no med that really touches it- the only thing I do is meditation and breathing. Breath work , sounds simple, and once you get used to it, it is- decreases the pain level enormously. I also...

Re: mri question

There is controversy over whether regular MRIs can visualize the pudendal nerves. I think there are better MRIs called a 3TMRI and MRN- magnetic resonance neurography - having said that, I am a physician and I diagnosed myself with PN before having an MRI with Hollis Potter at Hospital for Special S...

Re: Hielp for severe anal rectal pain

I am new to this forum and I know that this is 2 years after your initial question but I have PN with rectal pain and valium suppositories with baclofen 5mg/5mg or 10mg of valium have helped with the rectal pain.
Hope you read this.
