Re: Surgery update

Hi river133, I am so sorry you are suffering so much. I hope the soboxone works for you. This is an insidious condition. I certainly don't have my life back to where I was before all this started, but I am better since the surgery. I still take 1/2 of a tramadol a day (25mg), but I think I can stop ...

Surgery update

I am almost 9 months post-op and I am doing so well. I haven't had a nerve flare for a month or more. I can't believe how much better I feel. I am still battling trigger points in my Gluteus Maximus, but I can treat that with physical therapy. She found a trigger point medial to the ischial tuberosi...

Re: Hibner Surgery... ?

Hi Carolynn, Yes, I am finding out how unusual my case is. I am sure I still have the scar tissue at the dorsal and perineal branch. Only time will tell if I will have to have something else done. Prof. Aszmann did not think these were my main pain generators, so that's why he opted for the TG. He t...

Re: Hibner Surgery... ?

Hi Positivepoppy, I am glad to give you hope, but I still have a long way to go too. Yes, my flares are down. Unfortunately, I woke up with a small one this morning, probably because I have been doing too much. I started PT about a month ago, but we are going really slow. She treated me before surge...

Re: Hibner Surgery... ?

Hi Velmartd, I hope my answers to Desperate answered your questions. It is a very hard decision to have surgery, but if you have done all conservative treatments and you still have no quality of life, it does become an easier decision. Hope you find some help soon. Hi Lara, Yes, my flares are down a...

Re: Hibner Surgery... ?

Hi Desperate, I guess I need to clarify that I went to Prof. Aszmann because Dr. Potter's MRI had seen entrapment of the dorsal nerve to the clitoris and the perineal branch and I went to Austria to have the anterior approach that he is known for. (He also saw my MRI), but once Prof. Aszmann examine...

Re: Hibner Surgery... ?

I had TG surgery with Prof. Aszmann in Sept. and I am doing great. I still have some numbness and pain around the gluteal fold and incision site and I know it is going to take a while to get the muscles strong again, but the nerve pain is much better. The flares are way down. I don't think about PN ...

Re: Weight bearing exercises after surgery

Hello bma, I see that you have no signature, so it is hard to tell your motivation. Have you had surgery? I am also confused as to why you chose this thread to convey your message. Most of us on the surgery forum have had surgery, and are recovering, so to talk about the amount of scar tissue and th...

Re: Weight bearing exercises after surgery

Hi Violet, It seems a lot of our conditions are similar. Thanks for your reply. I knew I couldn't take fosamax long term and I was really excited about the cream you talked about until you got to the point about breast cancer risks. I had early stage breast cancer in 2001. I was diagnosed on Sept. 1...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Lara, Sorry it took me awhile to respond to your questions. We have been going through the loss of our beloved little 16 year old bischon that stole our hearts many years ago and has left a hole in our hearts that is very hard to deal with. My pain has escalated, but I know stress can do that. My...
