Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco
Hi Lara, How did you find out your nerve was entrapped. Is the nerve entrapped in scar tissue? The injection was done at my surgery by Prof/ Dr. Aszmann. He saw inflammation on the ultrasound at the hamstring attachment to the ischial tuberosity and thought I had hamstring tendinitis, so he did an i...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco
Hi Lara, I just started using a compounded cream with ketamine, gabapentin, lidocaine and something else. It helps some, but I thought it would be a cream and instead it is a gel that feels like Vaseline. Needless to say, it is kind of sticky and hard to apply.....and because my ischial tuberosity i...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco
Hi Positivepoppy, I put heat on my muscles because they are really tight since my surgery (glutes, hamstrings, piriformis, etc.), but I use ice for the perineum and other areas that feel like nerve pain. I have found it feels better if I wait until the ice pack is cool instead of really cold. It work...

Re: I'm back :(
Hi Violet and Karyn, I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have a question and thought you still may be monitoring this thread. I am doing very well for 6 months post TG surgery, which I have said. The nerve pain seems much better with fewer flares....which is the good news. However, I am still ...

Re: I'm back :(
Hi Positivepoppy, I agree with Karyn. Please let all the good posts encourage you with your decision. I had the TG surgery 6 months ago and I am doing well. It is still a long road, but I feel it was the right decision. There will always be days you will second guess your decision until you are pret...

Re: Weight bearing exercises after surgery
Hi Karyn, Yes, the doctor does know of my surgery. He put me on fosamax and gave me recommendations of how to minimize my risks going forward. He is aware that I can not do weight bearing at this time. I told my physical therapist today and she recommended walking until I can work up to at least 45 ...

Weight bearing exercises after surgery
Hello everyone. I have a post-op question for anyone that can help. I am 6 months from TG surgery, and doing reasonably well. I still have some flares and the tightness of my muscles and my ischial tuberosity pain is still making sitting uncomfortable. However, I got some news today that has really ...

Re: Post surgery update
Yes, thanks Violet, it does help to have another person's perspective on this huge puzzle called PN and PNE. I do feel comfortable that Prof. Aszmann did the right surgery on me. It was so obvious in the ultrasound that my right sacrotuberous was so much thicker than my left and was causing compress...

Re: Post surgery update
Hello everyone, I am continuing my updates in hopes my recovery journey can help others. I also have lots of questions for the seasoned pros on the site. I am almost 6 months out from surgery. I am in a bit of a flare as I drove too far (25 miles) to have lunch with a friend yesterday and had PT tod...
