Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Positivepoppy, Just your name lets me know you are on the right track. Seven weeks is really a very short time to see any results from the surgery. I am at 5 months, and although I can say I have seen some nerve pain reduction, I am still a long way from recovery from the surgery. Yes, it definit...

Re: Post surgery update

I have tried so many cushions, as I am sure we all have. Right now the one I am using is like an eggcrate cushion with a hole in the middle. It is more oval than circle and it has a cover over it. I carry it In a bag when I go to restaurants, etc . It works. :)

Hope this helps.

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Hi Kassie, Glad you sound like you are doing well. I am at 5 months and I am doing well also. It is still a bit of a roller coaster, so I will tell you what everyone told me........please take it slow. I have been feeling much better so I went for a massage today. The girl that was doing my massage ...

Re: Post surgery update

Thanks Helen, Yes, I know it takes a long time for the nerve to heal, so I am sure I will have the pain for awhile. I am going to start PT soon, but I want to start very slow and work up. I need to strengthen my SI Joint on the opposite side from my surgery as my internist, (who is also an osteopath...

Re: Post surgery update

Thanks everyone for your good wishes and support for continued recovery. I know I am not out of the woods, but feel very grateful to be doing so well at just 5 months. I still have that nagging pain around the ischial, but the doctor said I may have to seek further treatment for this as he said hams...

Re: Post surgery update

I wanted to give an update on my recovery to give everyone some hope. It has been 4 and 1/2 months since my surgery, and I am doing very well. The nerve pain is much better. Of course, I am not sitting for extended periods of time, but I just returned from vacation and I was able to swim and water w...

Re: Just returned from surgery with Prof. Aszmann

Hi Anita, I am healing. It has only been 4 months since the surgery and this is the time that everyone who has the surgery experiences an increase in pain as the nerve begins to heal. I have emailed Prof Aszmann because I am also experiencing an increase in pain and he said as the nerve heals, you d...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Decompression Surgery - post surgery reco

Good luck Kassie! Let us know how you do. Take it easy and slow. I am in a bit of a flare because I didn't take it easy on my trip to Florida, so it really is so much better in the long run if you do.

Hope your recovery goes well and I'll be thinking about you.

Re: Post surgery update

Thanks so much for the good advice and support. Hopefully, this time next year I can see a big improvement. At any rate, I will take it easy for now and not push it. This was a good lesson for me. :)

Re: Post surgery update

Thanks Karyn.....I am writing this on the couch with an ice pack, but I am also looking out at beautiful sunshine and palm trees. It is hard to complain too much. I am sure the pool and water walking will be good therapy. I have told myself to take it slow, as I know this recovery is not like recove...
