Re: How important is an EMG?

Thanks you all, I'm glad some of you are saying it wasn't such a terrible experience. I'm not really concerned about the humiliating part, I've been poked and prodded in every area and every inch of my body. At this stage of my journey I have no privacy, it's almost like I'm public property and my b...

Re: How important is an EMG?

Thanx, Karyn I do tend to handle pain pretty well but what people what are saying is really freeking me out! When I had the pudendal nerve block, the 2nd one I opted to forgo anesthesia and boy was it painful! I basically jumped off the table then buried my head into the table and bit my lip and got...

How important is an EMG?

I have an appointment scheduled for July 22 with Dr. Conway, prior to seeing him he schedulded me for an EMG. How important is it to undergo an EMG? It sounds like it's extremely painful and not so reliable, so what's the point of it? July is relatively far off, but I'm already stressing about it......

Re: 3 Month Labral Tear/FAI Surgery Report

As a followup to my last post. I saw Dr. Coleman today. Based on the diagnostic testing me had done over the past couple months and based on the location o my pain he thinks I'm having pain from scar tissue build-up and bone on bone hitting in the joint. He wants to go back in and check and fix it, ...

Re: 3 Month Labral Tear/FAI Surgery Report

Shana, I'm sorry to hear about the continuing trouble with your hip and pelvic pain. I also have seen Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Chapman. I didn't find either to be particularly helpful, so I moved on. It sounds like they didn't help you too much either. I didn't have the vestibulectomy though, and some...

Re: 3 Month Labral Tear/FAI Surgery Report

Faith, I feel your pain and frustration. I had a hip repair with Dr. Coleman at HSS back in Jan 2011. I did 3 months of PT for my hip 2x a week, it was very grueling and tearing but my hip pain did lessen post PT and surgery. I continued to have pelvic pain. About a year after I finished PT on my hi...

Re: need pain control -

Hi Kathy,

I'm actually coming from South/Central Jersey, exit 89 off the parkway. It's a 1/2 hr from my house to the Driscol bridge, so that would be great.

So far all the meds of ever been on for pain I couldn't handle, not sure if he'd have any other ideas

Re: need pain control -

Thanks Katy, I appreciate the info, I'm gonna google him. South Amboy is about 40 min from me so though not next door, compared to going into NY it's much much closer. Usually the meds prescribed for pain are narcotics which can only be filled with an original prescription, they won't even accept a ...

Re: need pain control -

Thanks Katy, I definitely need the first hip surgery, I was having pain causing all sorts of problems, I'm just not sure why I'm still in pain. I'm hoping the CT scan on Fri will answer that question. About Dr Diwan, what's his first name? I googled the name but I'm not sure I have the right person....

Re: Post nerve block pain HELP

I seem to be one if those people who are the lucky ones. I has my first nerve block end if Feb and then my second one 4 weeks ago. My pain has progressively gotten worse so the dr doesn't want to do another block before I speak to Dr. Coleman. I went from a pain level of a 4-8 to a pain level that i...
