Re: another labral tear looking for advice please

I'm relatively new to this forum and I'm not sure how to link a topic. But right under your post there's a topic called "Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal pain?" By Lernica. Dr. Coleman's study is listed under one of the replys also if you read all the replies - there ...

Re: another labral tear looking for advice please

Al, I'm sorry to hear about your hip issues but I can relate. As I've said in some of my previous posts, I have labral tears in both my hips. I had a surgery done on my right hip in 2011 to fix the tear by Dr. Coleman at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhatan. He has a study that pelvic pain and P...

Re: Increasing pain

4 1/2 days post block and my pain is back tenfolds. I'm having sharp hot stabbing pain vaginally and in my labia through my buttocks to my coccyx and sometimes in my thighs. Its just awful! I was told it could get worse and after the first block I did start with new symptoms but I was hoping that wo...

Re: Increasing pain

Thank you all for your support and input. I had a successful nerve block 2 1/2 days ago and I'm happy to report I have not felt vaginal or pelvic pain since then. Today I did have labia pain and itching. I continue to have anal pain and burning which was not impacted in any way with the block. Yeste...

Re: Increasing pain

Thanks, Meliora I am happy we hit the right nerve and that it didn't take long. About anesthesia, since I tried both ways I can honestly say I do not understand the purpose of having anesthesia. I guess if someone is freeking out or something to that affect and they need it to calm down it makes sen...

Re: Increasing pain

Just got home from my second pudendal nerve block with Dr. Chapman. I opted to go without anesthesia and I have no regrets. Yes it was very painful but the minute it took to place the needle before I would have been woken up in my mind makes no sense to have anesthesia and have extra drugs enter my ...

Re: 2 weeks post pudendal nerve block new and worsening pain

I'm not a big fan of ice, I find it so uncomfortable and a pain in the ass to deal with so I'm not good about doing it. With regard to pain meds, when I had my nerve block I didn't realize I'd be in so much pain afterwards so I didn't ask for any. When I spoke to the dr over the phone about my pain ...

Re: Increasing pain

I wish I can say I'm feeling much better and all my pain is gone, but at this point I'm happy saying that my hips, yes only my hips, are pain free. In the last few weeks I started with new pain that I never experienced before, labia pain, butt pain, anal burning and sensations that there's something...

Re: Increasing pain

I had cortisone injections yesterday into both hips at HSS. I felt so sick afterwards, my head hurt, I was nauseous I felt like if I stood up I would faint and then later I started sweating. I called HSS and spoke to the radiologist on call, as it was after hours, and he tells me it's probably unrel...

Re: Scary reaction of nerve block

I'm knew to the forum but I'm very experienced in adverse reactions to medication (oral or injected) your reaction sounds exactly like an allergic reaction especially the fact that your tongue was swollen. I would follow up with the doctor and ask if its possible u were having an allergic reaction b...
