Is this shockwave the same as the eswt that I see advertised for plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow?
For example if I find an orthopedic group that does this can they try it in areas such as near the sacrotuberous ligament or do they need FDA approval?

Re: Need advice please
Hi
I am not a moderator, just a member, but so sorry you are in such pain.
I take gabapentin ( similar to lyrica) and can confirm that it took about a week to
take effect and relieve some of my rectal pain.
you may want to search for info on IC and pudendal issues in the search bar.

Re: Scared, in pain...Also hello!
Hi I think it is a positive sign that the pain has subsided somewhat. if you believe that it started with the constipation it could be muscle tension in the anal sphincter that radiates forward to the perineum etc. You may want to find a pelvic floor therapist to assess muscle tension in the levator...

Re: Sitting or Squatting toilets and the affects on PN
Hi For those with rectal pain I would like to note that I bought one of these and It gives me some relief, specifically from muscle spasms of the sphincter after BM. Even if you arent interested in buying one, the video makes good sense w/r/t the squatting posture aligning the body more correctly fo...

Re: Elliptical and/or Piriformis Stretch as Cause of PN.PNE
For what it is worth, my approach over the last few months is to try to strengthen my glutes via gentle exercises, with some light stretches between. This was under the assumption that some muscle was tensing to take the load because others were too weak. I think it has helped somewhat, especially w...

Re: Squatty potty as constipation prevention/cure?
Since I have rectal pain I bought one of these. Altering the position to more of a squat for
BM has given me some relief from spasms after BM.

Re: piriformis question
Hi, Please let us know how it goes for you with the injections. My pudendal pain is all left-sided and my piriformis becomes hard as a rock. Massaging it myself will not cause pain but it does send tingling down the line of the pudendal nerve. I hear you about the stretches. Piriformis stretches wer...

Re: New Person with Pudendal Nerve Disorder
Topkitena, I agree with Stephanies about the risk. This pain can be life-changing and I will probably never risk biking again. If you are adamant about returning to biking you could check into other bike seats designed to prevent pressure on the nerve. HOPE lists some of them http://www.pudendalhope...
