Re: Gabapentine and what next?

Andy thank you for your kind words and information. Just getting through each day is an ordeal at the moment which cannot be explained to family so it is nice to chat with fellow sufferers.

Gabapentine and what next?

The last five months have been truly a nightmare. The pain which used to be only on touch at the entrance to the vagina spread to the rectum making sitting so painful. The area is sore and burning. At the beginning of September I went off Amitriptyline and was put on Gabapentine gradually building i...

Re: Anal Pain

Thanks Violet I'll try that. Finding ice a blessing.
Pafen I think I have a heat pad I'll have to dig it out.
Rosemary, do you think the pain clinic have better ideas than the GP? At the moment the Amitriptyline and cocodamol are making me sick. Thanks for popping bye, Edwina x

Re: Anal Pain

Hello Violet, thanks for calling in. I have had a steroid cream and then the nitroglycerin but I couldn't tolerate it. The pain is agony so I think it must be to do with the nerves.....very worried. Edwina x

Re: Anal Pain

Hi Rosemary, I was lucky that you popped by today. I totally understand why you don't come that often. Your cushion sounds very nice. I do read a lot when I'm going through a crisis. It sounds that you are in a good place at the moment and managing to the best of your ability. Hope to get there myse...

Re: Anal Pain

Hi Rosemary that's so nice of you to have looked that up. I didn't know that there was an airport at Southampton. It is something to bear in mind but on your own and sitting is so painful now well you know what I mean. Since I first read about vulvodynia and then pudendal neuralgia I was horrified b...

Re: Anal Pain

Thanks Aristocrat for your thoughts. There are so many pathways to this problem. I've read so much. I do realise that tension and anxiety play a big part to shortening and tightening your muscles and over the yrs I have clenched this area pretty tight having suffered with OCD as well. Before this la...

Re: Anal Pain

Hi Rosemary thanks again. The fish and chips sounds lovely. Unfortunately if I went it would be by train from Yorkshire so at the moment too far. I know when I try my own internal massage it usually feels worse but I think I've read it sometimes has to get worse before getting better. These are such...

Re: Anal Pain

Hi Rosemary thanks again. Did Dr Ruth Jones eliminate your trigger points manually or by injection? How many times did you see her? I'm afraid I am basically alone apart from my 87 yr old dad whom I don't want to burden too much. Edwina x
