Re: Has anyone tried these?
Hi Wvgirl, So sorry about all you've been through. Glad you found the site! I've been on both nortriptyline and amitriptyline. As you probably know, they are similar. Both seemed to help with pain and with sleep (although a side effect for me was needing more sleep than I otherwise would). Since you...

Re: My health journey - looking for advice
Hi Lindsey, Welcome to forum. I'm so sorry to hear about all that you've been through. It sounds awful. Some of your symptoms definitely sound like pn (pain while sitting and discomfort with intercourse), but some of your other symptoms and signs seem different. I haven't heard about bladder retenti...

Re: update on my condition
Hi Capricorn,
Thanks for the update. I'm so glad you'll be getting more diagnostic information. It can be so relieving to at least get to a more official diagnosis.
Take care,
April

Re: Delayed pain?
Thanks for the update, Barre. This is a hard decision, but your decision to try this less invasive procedure makes sense, given the low risk. Let us know how it goes.
Take care,
April

Re: Pudendal neuralgia exercises on YouTube ???
Hi Aua, I have the same take on this as Violet. The exercises in the first and third video are ones that I would (even today) not do. (I had decompression surgery, but I have some lingering pain, so I proceed as if I still have a small part of the nerve slightly entrapped.) The second one seemed mor...

Re: Nerve blocks: differentiating between PN and PNE ?
Hi Aussie,
Yes, it would. The nerve block is designed to ensure that it is the *pudendal* nerve and not another nerve (or another part of the pelvis) creating the pain. It doesn't help to differentiate between pn and pne.

Re: Clitoral pain flare up and injury
Hi Finding Strength, I have just a couple of small points to add to what others have said. You mentioned getting patchy red skin on your thighs from the hot water bottle. I have that too from the heating pad. It is not as bad as it used to be because I use heat less but also because I now wear thick...

Re: Pudendal Neuralgia without entrapment
Hi Mugofwater, Just like Violet and Stephanies, my symptoms were bilateral, but I had extra sensitivity on the ischial spine on the left, and I had stabbing sharp pains periodically inside slightly above the pelvic floor on the left side. Maybe 1/100 times I'd get something like that on the right, b...

Re: Pudendal Neuralgia without entrapment
Hi Mugo, So sorry to hear about what you're going through. It is hard to tell if the original problem is just tense muscles or if the muscles are tense because of the pain of the pn. PT can calm muscles and if your problem is due to the muscles (and not entrapment), the pt might help you long-term. ...

Re: Help needed urgently
Hi Prescot, I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. You are definitely not alone. Many of us have experienced some version of what you're describing, with doctors not being able to diagnose or even understand what we're describing. And what you describe does sound to me like pn. MRIs u...
