Re: Wife has PN/PNE - things are rough

From what I understood, your wife did not have prior pelvic surgeries. No accident. She was not a long distance biker I presume.

How did she get PNE?
Does Dr. Castellanos offer an explanation?

Re: Wife has PN/PNE - things are rough

he did tell us he's only done it 4 times and that the most similar case to ours (age, onset, symptoms, etc) did end up helping. You should very seriously ask to talk to that patient and make sure that patient is at least 2 years post-op. What puzzled me on the facebook group is the number of relaps...

Re: How many

According to Dr. Jerome Weiss, the steroid which looks like milk in the syringe, crystallizes when it dries and that can by itself irritate the nerve. It is why he would switch to Heparin/Lidocaine injections for repeat treatments instead of a steroid.

Re: A different view of "PGAD"

Absolutely Aristocat and it is not some new age strange ideas. It is well documented by hard science. From the day we are born we store every emotion/event in the amygdala. It is stored in a non-verbal memory (called the implicit memory) therefore you cannot access it directly. Those stored emotions...

Re: Wife has PN/PNE - things are rough

rbzl, Good luck with a better pain management practice. My pain doctor was wonderful and willing to try my suggestions. By procedure for your wife soon, do you mean PNE surgery? Was her PNE the result of a prior surgery or an accident? Or it just happened one day? Please realize that PNE surgery is ...

Re: Wife has PN/PNE - things are rough

Fentanyl patches are reservoir based. They can potentially be dangerous if damaged. Fentanyl is also much more addictive. Butrans is matrix based and is not dangerous even if punctured (just like a nicotine patch). Butrans is less addictive and I even used the patches swimming in the ocean. They sti...

Re: Wife has PN/PNE - things are rough

Can't they prescribe Butrans (buprenorphine) patches? They worked great for me and around the clock. You replace the patch after 7 days. They also present virtually no risk for abuse (full agonist).

I can't believe they are not more popular in the US (originally from the UK).

Re: Numb Genitals & Diminished Libido (Desperate)

Ok thanks for that. Yes, I am seeing Bill Taylor. Wow! I am sure there are specialists in London. Dr Baranowski works with some PTs so he can refer you. Bertie posted a list of physical therapists: http://www.pudendalhope.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6248&p=47940#p47940 I am in the UK, a...

CK85, I am not in the UK but it seems that Dr Baranowski is the main specialist.

Re: Numb Genitals & Diminished Libido (Desperate)

Well... I had surgery with Dr Aszmann's mentor, Dr Dellon. A failure. I do not know of great successes with Dr Aszmann. Search for his name on this forum or on the Facebook forum. In any case, if you feel surgery is the answer for you and want it, you will get it. It will simply be deemed "expl...
