Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hello everyone! Quick update from me, five years after bilateral arthroscopic hip surgeries to repair labral tears, FAI and loose cartilage from joints. I am 100% pain free, can sit as long as I like, have intercourse, and exercise, even lift weights and ride a bike! The hip surgeries were key to my...

Re: Electric Stimulation

I had a very sore and tight obturator internus muscle for a couple of years. My pelvic physiotherapist worked on it for about a year, massaging it internally. She also taught me how to massage it myself with a crystal wand (which is available on Amazon). Are there any pelvic therapists in the UK tha...

Re: My Journey to Healing after 5 years with PNE/PD

LL, Your positive experience with Dr. Andrew was the same as mine. He was a beacon of hope in a sea of uncertainty and despair and doubt. And I have read both books by Dr. Doidge and found them fascinating about the way the brain rewires itself in cases of chronic pain. The Canadian Broadcasting Cor...

Re: walking

If you are experiencing pain walking, you might want to consider having your hips checked out for any pathology. My PN journey began -- and ended -- with the hips! At first it hurt to jog, then it hurt to walk, and then I developed PN. It took ten years for me to discover that I had bad hips all alo...

Re: Adenomyosis, endometriosis, PGAD, ? Hysterectomy

Melanie,

For what it's worth, I too was diagnosed with endometriosis (stage IV - extensive). I took Lupron injections for nine months and then had a hysterectomy. Neither had any effect whatsoever in reducing my PN pain.

Best wishes,

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Julia, Please do consider taking Lorraine's course! It connected so many dots for me and helped me understand -- and overcome -- the body-mind connection in chronic pelvic pain. Also, who is prescribing your clonazepam? Your family doc? Have you considered seeing a psychiatrist instead? S/he could h...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hey Julia, All your current symptoms sounds exactly the same as mine were. It took one year after the second hip surgery for the PN pain to subside. I had many many ups and downs, many flare-ups, many tears shed at the PTs, lots of frustration. Be patient and know that over time your body will heal....

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hello everyone, I haven't posted for over a year, since I started to feel better. I am now completely pain-free, I can have sex, I can lift weights, I can walk up to 1.5 hours, I can wear tight leggings (but will never go back to tight jeans), I can ride a bike. My PN days are now just a distant mem...

Re: Colonoscopy

Patty, I think that if the colonoscopy were the triggering event, it would have been very painful for you. But it sounds like you didn't experience any pain. I have had many colonoscopies, each of them exquisitely painful. I haven't heard of a colonoscopy causing PN, but it can certainly aggravate i...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Oh my gosh, I can't even tell you how many ups and downs I had! Recovery from labral hip surgery is NOT a linear event! I remember thinking, four months post-op on my second hip, that I would never get better. I was in SO much pain. You are only 2.5 months post-op! Please have patience. You will get...
