Re: SCS or DRG

You can do a search on Kit's posts on this forum -- he had success with a DRG neurostimulator. You can read Amanda's experience with SCS using retrograde approach from Dr. Van Buyten in Belgium. I think there are some US doctors who do them too.

Re: Management of chronic perineal pain-case report

I guess the question is - did this woman have PN? It sounds like her pain was exclusively in the rectal area and involved one of the muscles, the levator ani, which is one of the muscles near the rectum. Hmmm....not sure what to make of this.

Re: Ganglion Impar Block?

Hi Bartland, I did a search on "ganglion impar block" on this forum and after skimming through a bunch of pages of posts, it seems like most people did not get any long-term improvement and some had worsening of symptoms from it. So, if it were me, I would want some pretty convincing stati...

Re: Pudendal Nerve Symptoms ?

Hi jvdd, Several things came to mind as I read your post because you are describing some of the things I experienced. My first question would be -- is the pain worse on one side? And secondly, has she been evaluated by a good PT for pelvic misalignment or instability, including SI joint dysfunction?...

Re: Help- possible PN?

Hi Tocojuju, Welcome to the forum. Your symptoms sound a bit scary to experience. I don't remember hearing of those exact symptoms of feeling frozen, but some of your symptoms are similar to what some PN patients experience, such as the sharp, shooting, deep perineal pain. I can't remember for sure ...

Re: Letter Sent to Physician about Psoas Release

If I understand correctly, I think this was a letter you sent to one of your doctors, right? Thank you for educating him/her about PNE surgery. ;) I went back and read some of your posts and it sounds like you are doing better after your PNE surgery from Hibner in Sept 2022. I hope you continue to d...

Re: Undiagnosed condition for 3 years (obturator nerve?)

I completely agree with you, Chamois. The medical system has figured out how to do amazing things with heart disease -- stents, coronary artery bypass surgery, etc., but nerves are another story. I think the nervous system is more complex. I'm sorry to hear the parietal pubalgia surgery didn't work ...

I used a lot of heat too and it was very helpful. It's really important to be able to get some sleep to keep your brain from going crazy, so I'm glad it helps you. Re: So confused….

Two people I can think of are Kit, who had DRG neurostimulation and Amanda, who had SCS neurostimulation. You can read their stories in the neurostimulation section of the forum, or do an advanced search in the upper right corner of this page to search for their posts. From what they said, it's not ...
