Re: Surgery next --- now the insurance game

Doreen, I had to write a letter of medical necessity (I did this and then my PCP's office put their name to it... since most docs truly do not know what PNE is) stating all the conservative treatments I have tried thus far... including all the doctors I saw, all the drugs I'd taken, and all the ther...

Re: Nerve Block Experiences

Krista, You maybe have already said this in another post, but where do you live? Do you think you could get a nerve block done by a qualified physician closer to your home or do you live in Texas/? (My delete key is broken if I make typos... sorry1 ) I will tell you that I did flare from my nerbe bl...

Re: Severed Pudendal Nerve

Allie, Pain in your buttocks can be referred pain from a damaged nerve or a tense muscle. Sometimes I get electric shocks up my pudendal nerve towards the piriformis and it is so bizarre. My entrapment is on the left so I can feel it "zip" up the nerve. What exactly does the pain in your b...

Re: PT to break up scar tissue?

I'm so curious as to how in the world these physiotherapists could break up the scar tissue? I mean look at LottaNerves case--- how else could a stuck nerve be freed from a ligament or when attached somewhere without surgery? Does this type of "scar breaking-up" (sorry couldn't think of a ...

Re: Dr Hibner - Abstract of Pudendal Neuralgia Journal

I first read this post on Dr. Hibner's article abstract two days ago; how was I supposed to know if others had not already seen it??? I'd be happy to share it when I get back to my house and have enough energy to either upload it or type it. Someone may get to it before me though. I hope that all wi...

Re: Acetabular Labral Tears

Bridget, Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. It sounds like a few "oldies" know your story a bit better so I hope you are doing well. I am curious to know if you had any imaging studies with Dr Hollis Potter at HSS since you had surgery there and so many of us have recently gon...

Re: Dr Hibner - Abstract of Pudendal Neuralgia Journal

I've found worth in many articles on PNE from all the teams, US doctors and international teams, and every article has value. It allows patients to learn for themselves, take the little known PNE world to their hometown family doctors, and possibly make educated decisions as to which route to pursue.

Re: Anteriogram of the Pudendal Artery

Ali, I've wondered where you've been! Here I didn't know you were going to have an arteriogram with Dr Kim in Boston; I thought you were scheduled for a procedure at St Josephs in AZ with Dr Kalinkin. Will you still have that procedure or just the consultation with Dr Hibner? What's your take on you...

Re: Dr Hibner - Abstract of Pudendal Neuralgia Journal

Celeste, I do not know if we are allowed to share those journal articles; what are the rules behind that? Are they public domain? I don't have an online copy or a link to it (if this is even the one in question, from late 2009 I do believe); my husband requested it from our local hospital's medical ...
