Re: Alone in the pain
Dear Violet, I'm coming back for a short update. Pregabalin (Lyrica) helps a little but I realize that every time after a defecation itch and burning comes back the same. It's like pooping triggers all the pain. Is it possible? Is there any solution? My doctor last week increased Lyrica to 150mg twi...

Re: Alone in the pain
Hi Brian, what I don't understand is that in the last month (after having begun this therapy with Lyrica) walking became really annoying. Before this therapy I haven't any symptom when I walked. Now I feel complaint in the perianal area when I walk, especially if I walk quickly. I feel like there's ...

Pain in the evening increasing, am I the only one?
Happy new year to everybody.
I'm still not fully convinced that I suffer from PN.
What I know for sure is that my pain increases significantly after 5PM. Have you experienced something like that?
I don't understand exactly why but, even avoiding sitting at 5PM pain increases.

Re: Alone in the pain
Yes, I've seen on 21st Jan a specialist who confirmed this therapy. I live in Italy. I started the therapy with Lyrica 3 weeks ago. Now it's a bit better. Burning is significantly reducing but I feel discomfort in the pudendal area, especially when I walk for a while. And I keep feeling annoyance wh...

Re: Alone in the pain
Just a quick update.
My urologist confirmed the therapy: 75mg lyrica 3 times a day.
And added pelvilen.
Unfortunately, after a mild improvement, during this winter vacation I'm suffering as before to start the treatments.
I'm still afraid not to exit this tunnel.

Re: Alone in the pain
I wanted to underline that I stumbled in a machine translated article on Pudendal Nevralgia http://consigli-salute.blogspot.it/2008/01/togliere-il-shame-di-nevralgia-del.html?m=1 and I found it incredibly complete and very well written, despite the errors due to the automatic translation. Only after...

Re: Alone in the pain
I wouldn't like to take opioids, until I can manage to sleep. Today pain is under control: Lyrica is reducing the pain transforming it in a bad itching, although I feel scared every time I feel pudendal burning/itching. Doctor told me he would proceed with cortisone shots but I don't think this will...

Re: Alone in the pain
Violet, you're an angel. Thank you for all the information and suggestion. I'm taking notes and for sure I will ask to my Neuro-Urologist in my upcoming visit. I think it's important to take some medication while you are going through the diagnosis and treatment phase so your pain levels stay under ...
