PFCN Block

Hello, Well as I am in between finding a surgeon to potentially have labral tear surgery, my pain doc wants to do a block to the PFCN to rule this out as a cause for my pain, before I plan any hip surgery. The reason she is looking at the PFCN, is because that is the only area that showed scar tissu...

Re: Ingenius chair for PN

Hi Kathyd, What I have found that works for me....is the old fashioned type life jackets...you can get them at any marine store or perhaps even Walmart. We have a boat, and over the summer, I grabbed one to sit on and low and behold it worked for me. My boyfriend duck taped the sides together so tha...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi Elmwood, I have been seeing Dr. Coleman at HSS, but due to uninsured out of pocket expenses, I have been forced to look for another hip surgeon. I found Dr. Scott Martin as he is in my network and have an appt wtih him on 28NOV12. I am curious to know, did you enlighten him to the labral tear/PN ...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi Lernica Fear is definately something I am all too familiar with and often it does take over. Staying stuck and living in pain and the associated fear and depression is not where I want to stay. I have 2 beautiful girls, one just became a 'teen' and another just 18mos whom I have to keep trying to...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hi Lernica I really don't want to have any nerve blocks at all. After having my appt with the pain dr. last week, I ended up calling them back and asking to have the doctor call me. I am faxing the articles over, and hopefully she will review them before she calls me. All of my PN pain is left sided...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

I am so glad to hear of the success' of both Lernica and Beverly! You both bring hope to those of us in the beginning phases of pursuing surgery. I am still extremely concerned about the surgery in the sense of damage incurred by the perineal post. As i have stated before, the majority of my pain is...

Re: Another Member With a Labral Tear...

Regarding going through PT currently, my PT has me doing hip strengthening exercises i.e. clamshells, bridges with a band around my knees, leg lifts, etc...these really seem to exacerbate the 'posterior groin pain' which is a major pain source for me....(pain to the left of perineum pressing up and ...

Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

I just had my hip injection on Friday 9/14. Not sure yet if I have improvement. My hip pain is more on the outer hip and with lifting leg up to my chest have discomfort and can feel the impingement. Anyway, hoping to 'feel' something to make my decision about surgery a little easier :)..... Beverly ...
