Questions to ask the surgeon

I know this might sound foolish. I have a list of questions but I can't think of everything. What would you ask the surgeon before having surgery? Those of you who have already had the surgery, are there any questions or thoughts you wished you ask before hand? Any in-put would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Conway?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering having surgery. I met with Dr. Conway last month, he has recommended surgery. Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Conway? How did it go? What were the limitations after surgery? How long were you in the hospital? Does he put in a pain pump? TIA.

Re: Just had nerve block- worst pain EVER! Normal??

Thank you Violet! That makes sense. At least I can understand how it works now. :D :D
My guess is, the steroid would work for me. The sacrospinous ligament is always stiff. I feel it pulling when I walk for a while. Here's to hoping.

Re: Just had nerve block- worst pain EVER! Normal??

Hi April, Thank you. I did read the info. The doctor did say the block would only last a couple of hours and she was correct on that one. She did not use any type of guide. It was done vaginally through the wall into the the sacrospinous ligament near the nerve. It was easy because we know that was ...

Re: Just had nerve block- worst pain EVER! Normal??

I understand it was for diagnostic purposes, but it seems like a lot pain for only 2 hours of relief. The next day was really painful! Everything felt swollen and tight. It's been a week and I'm close to my baseline. So that's good! When they give you a nerve block with steroids, how many shots is i...

Re: Just had nerve block- worst pain EVER! Normal??

I just had a diagnostic nerve block 2 days ago. I feel your pain. I rate that pain level a 10! I broke out in a sweat. She just kept telling me to breath but I couldn't unclinch my jaw. I'm supposed to go back in a month and I'm absolutely terrified!!

TENS Unit

Has anyone had a physical therapist use a Tens unit on you? What was your experience? Yesterday I went to physical therapy and she used a TENS unit on me. She put the pads on my upper butt and lower back to cover the sacrum area. Then she turned on the machine and raised the dial. It created so much...

Re: Need opinions please

Thank you so much for the reply Violet! From looking at nerve maps and the corresponding area affected. It looks to me as the PN, posterior and inferior cluneal nerves are trapped, but I'm just a laymen. My surgeon did say that my nerve anatomy could be unique and she may have sutured it with the SS...

Need opinions please

Hi, I'm a 53 y/o female. I'm 10 days post-op from having anterior repair, posterior repair, bladder sling and hysterectomy with SSLF. All of the surgery was done vaginally, so flying blind, OMHO. Immediately after I woke up from surgery I noticed the skin on the right side of my private parts, rectu...
