Re: Another MRI???
If you want to have records to bring with you to Dr. Hibner than you are probably better off to have another MRI done before seeing him. Why will Dr. Conway not write you another script to see Dr. Potter? I don't think taking another look at the situation could really hurt especially since you have ...

Re: What does the long term hold for PN sufferers
I'm so sorry Missingmylife....please listen to what Violet has said...things CAN get better and there is no reason to think of this as a life sentence. I think everyone in chronic pain has felt as you feel but the fact is that if you end your life you *will* never know what you have missed out on (g...

Re: A's Mommy's MRI with Dr. Potter
I think I recall reading on this forum or the tipna forum that the reason why some doctors wouldn't consider pelvic congestion the cause of neuropathic pain is because the vein would not be "hard" enough to compress the nerve even in a state of congestion. I don't know if *all* doctors fee...

Re: hello everyone
You can get seats for bikes made for people with pelvic pain. My husband and I bought bikes last summer and I got a special seat that has an opening where my perineum/genitals can "hang free" so to speak. I don't have symptoms all the time (I can go for months feeling normal) but thought i...

Re: New Member - Kathy
Hi Kathy, Could it be that you have pudendal neuralgia (inflammation of the pudendal nerve) without entrapment? It is very possible to have inflammation of the nerve caused by something else other than entrapment which would explain why Dr. Potter's MRI didn't reveal an entrapment yet you have sympt...

Re: Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
It is a truly bizarre symptom and I do find it strange that it can happen even if I have no other pelvic pain (my symptoms remit and relapse). I really wish I could be one of those people that gets to live in ignorant bliss about pelvic pain! I'm planning on getting the hubby to do the drawing once ...

Re: Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve
Thanks for posting that info, Krista! It was really helpful to me especially since I seem to be one of those people that has an awful hard time figuring out pictures of the pelvic anatomy. Interestingly, I also have a spot on my rear end that, when scratched, illicits a pulling sensation in the clit...

Re: mental effects on pain?
I find that I'm easily scared or "jumpy" when I'm in a flare for some reason. When I'm not in a flare and am asymptomatic I don't have that kind of reaction. My pain definitely will get worse if I'm in a stressful situation.

Re: Measuring Surgical Success
I don't think it is really hard to understand, Celeste...I am obviously talking about people who have a similar type of pain but it is caused by something that will respond to conservative treatments and clearly not people who have an actual entrapment (since not *everyone* who visits these forums w...

Re: Measuring Surgical Success
Well, Charlie... I clearly don't have time to search forums for posts that say conservative treatments don't work. However, having been on the TIPNA forum, the old pudendal.info forum and now this one for the past 5 years, I definitely have seen posts where people claim that conservative treatments ...
