hip pathology/pain and PN
Hi all, Hoping someone can provide me with some guidance about hip issues and PN and which direction I should take next. I'm 31, female and have been experiencing symptoms of pudendal neuralgia since Oct 2019. It started as urinary/bladder pain (constant urgency from 1 Nov 2019) and in July 2020 bec...

Re: urinary/bladder symptoms
Hi, thanks for the response. The bladder stuff is definitely my most constant symptom but the vulva pain/dysesthesia is the most disturbing to me. I've had periods where that is the predominant symptom and the bladder pain has been very minimal but I've never been able to figure out why. They tend t...

urinary/bladder symptoms
I'm interested in what urinary/bladder symptoms people have as a result of PN and if treating the PN has helped bladder symptoms. Background: I have suspected PN (right-sided vulva and perineal pain and dysesthesia, right ischial tuberosity pain, foreign object sensation in vagina and anus). Develo...

Neuromuscular dysfunction or nerve stretch injury
Hoping someone knowledgable about PN can give me some guidance. I'm fairly certain I have PN based on symptoms (unilateral vulva pain and dysaesthesia, constant urge to urinate, groin, perineal and thigh pain on the same side) and have been seeing a physiotherapist who specialises in pelvic pain in ...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
What have you tried for PGAD, Sadie? I'm so sorry you've suffered with it. It's absolutely horrific. I've used something called Instillagel but that's only 2% lidocaine. You can get a 5% lidocaine ointment here on prescription, which I might try when I'm getting the itching and burning symptoms agai...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
I will make sure it's just lidocaine in the block. Do people ever get worse from just those? I will also ask Goldstein about the risk of blocks (he said he's done thousands) and ask about the 3tesla MRI. I thought MRIs were not very conclusive in diagnosing a pudendal problem though? I've had a lumb...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
I'm perfectly happy to travel to see Goldstein. He's far and away the most knowledgeable person I've spoken to about PGAD and they're still trying to isolate where this is coming from. If they discover it's from the pudendal nerve, at that point I imagine I'll find a PN specialist. I don't live in t...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
Does this sound like pudendal neuropathy? Hoping someone knowledgeable can advise me. I've been experiencing intermittent PGAD and dysaesthesias and pain in my labia, perineum and anus, exclusively on the right side, for three months. Luckily, after the first 10 days and with medication, the arousa...
