Dorsal Nerve Decompression
Dorsal Nerve Decompression
When I went to see Hibner earlier in the month for my penile pain, he stated that the dorsal nerve decompression surgery may work for me and would be better for me than the TG. He said he wants to practice more though before I come because my pain levels are not at the point where I cannot function. He said there are three surgeries scheduled on the books for him that are males, I want to know is anyone on this site one of those people? If you already had it how did it go etc? And by the way for all men, a urologist suggested that I try low dose Cialis 5mg since there are veins compressing my dorsal nerve of the penis and whenever these veins dilate (such as during sleep) the pain is greatly diminished. Well he was correct and it definitely helps my pain to the point where I am no long on pain medication unless I have sex a lot. The most I have to take is 7.5mg of percocet if I am having a very sexually active or a lot of sitting day. Not saying the cialis will work for you but I am a 26 year old male and was not having erectile problems with the pudendal pain, but sexually this drug has greatly helped pain wise. I could have sex twice in 24 hrs if i wanted to, which would have been unheard of for the past year that I have been dealing with the pain. Also, a big time neuro guy on the east coast suggested I try predinisone to maybe help the nerve pain. Prior to december the foreign object pain at the tip of my penis was awful, and one medrol dose pack wiped it all away. In february I did a tapered dose of predisone 60mg just to see if it would make it even better but it kept it the same. I cannot stress enough that before I took the first prednisone dose everytime I urinated or had a bm it burned like hell. Everytime I had sex I had awful foreign object pain. Everytime that I sat I had awful foreign object pain. All the pain I experience is in the tip of my penis, but the prednisone greatly helped and changed the foreign object pain to slight burning which is the way this pain began. On a good day now my pain is 1-2 without medication. I can almost completely kill my pain if I take one 7.5mg of percocet. I could sit without a cushion and have a 2 hr dinner. However, the pain is not totally gone my life is still restricted and I may do the dorsal nerve surgery because its less risk and far less invasive. Especially for the men please try the medrol dose pack and the cialis, if it brings you more pain for the day then never do it again, but give it a chance, it has made my life much more livable.

Re: Dorsal Nerve Decompression
I'm not sure Ali will want to be practiced on either. I have a certain amount of admiration for PN patients who are the first to try something because if it weren't for you and the docs willing to try these procedures, we would not have as many options.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
