sedation for guided block
Is it true that Dr. Hibner sedates for the guided block and Dr, Quesada does not? Can you request to be sedated ? Krisssy

Re: sedation for guided block
As far as I know Dr. Hibner is the only one doing dorsal pudendal nerve blocks and they are done under anesthesia. The other pudendal blocks either to Alcock's Canal or Ischial spines are not done under anesthesia no matter who does them. Dr. Westesson in Rochester, NY has done 100's of CT guided pudendal blocks. He has done about 7 or 8 on me, I've lost track! It takes him less then 5 minutes to do a block on one side. I'm sure Dr. Quesada numbers for pudendal blocks are right up there. If you ask he might give you something for your nerves like when you get a colonscopy but I doubt he would put you under anesthesia because of the risks of anesthesia.

Re: sedation for guided block
I have had one Pudendal Nerve Block done under sedation which was vis the alcocks canal many years ago....Dr Riant never gave me any sedation in France and nor did i need it either. He guided the needles via CT guidance and I never felt a thing for a while. The main thing is to remember to stay still and let these doctors who know how to do this injection do their stuff.
PNE started 2003 following Vaginal Hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and right oophorectomy; eventually after many tests had BilateralTG surgery Nantes 2004; following this tried many other treatments including 7 day epidural, ketamin infusions to no avail; Trialed and was implanted with a Neurostimulator in 2007- Dr Van Buyten Belgium, this has enabled me to manage my pain much better.
