Dr. Potter-reading other test
Dr. Potter-reading other test
I recently had a transvaginal block-both sides -done at Mass General. Never had anything hurt so much as that did and the results were not good. At Mass Gen they do have a 3-t machine and would do an exam with dye and without dye. Does anyone know if one of the top doctors at Mass Gen or Brighams were to contact Dr Potter would she read their mri exams if they were done according to her orders. I think that it is outright cruel that all of America needs to travel to New York to have a health test. It is so darn painful just to get through a day and we are suppose to get to New York! For some of us it is impossible both physically and mentally. I have suffered through five unnecessary surgeries ( pelvic reconstructions) and I have been at this for seventeen years. Only the Good Lord knows what a mess I must be in. According to what I have read on this site she is the only one with this expertise. Correct??

What do you mean the results were not good?
I would ask one of the radiologist if they would contact Dr. Potter to see if they could do the MRI and then she read it. I know a while back she did that for someone, over 1 year ago. You've got nothing to loose but to ask.
Sending healing and warm thoughts your way.

Re: Dr. Potter-reading other test
I had a pelvic mri at the hospital for special surgery in nyc the spring of 2011. They were trying to find pudendal nerve entrapment but only found scar tissue at my vaginal opening leading to the clit and back on the left side of the perineum toward the anis. They told me I must have had an injury of some kind with sports. I said I never did. They don't know how else to explain my scars, they don't even know if the scars are the reason for my pain. Now recently I've been told the scars are normal. I have never had a baby or surgery of any kind.
I am 27 and have been suffering with vulvodynia for the past 9yrs of my life. My symptoms have only gotten worst since age 18. I have to sit on frozen gelpacks. If I don't I have bad knife like pains. After I pee I need to compress a frozen gelpack on my vestibule for 10min. I am unable to wear pants and underwear. I am lucky to have a supportive mother and bf. I'm just tired of not being helped. I've been on 600mg of lyrica a day since last spring. I use to do cymbalta but it leaves me with bad insomnia so I had to stop. Drs all these yrs just can't find a reason why and so far there has been no permanent releif. The only thing that helps is lyrica and frozen gelpacks, cold water rinses.
I had a s1s2 nerve block last summer that did nothing for me. They didn't put me out for it. It was the worst pain ever. I'm going to see a Dr Conway in Manchester NH soon for an emg test. I know it will be painful. I don't know how I'm going to keep it together in order to talk with the dr after the procedure.
