Am I Crazy (you now, more than my usual crazy)

Here is a place for social chats with special attention to support and non medical discussions. We need a place to chill out, where we can distract from our pain and enjoy lighter moments, share a joke or funny moment with others.

Am I Crazy (you now, more than my usual crazy)

Post by kat »

So my cousin is getting married in March in Hawaii (his wife to be is Hawiian so her entire family is there.
I want to go. I have 4 more months to heal and I feel like sometimes you just have to go for it.
I went to Hawaii 2 years before surgery and did struggle to walk the first day there. I got a massage and just dealt with it because, come on, it's Hawaii.
My BF has never been and I miss my family and feel we have earned some fun after the surgery and all this PT stuff.

Do any of you feel this will set me back in my healing?
I really think God would want me to live my life so I really want to go.

Tell me I'm not crazy.

Born with pudendal and obtorator neuralgia. 32 years of being misdiagnosed.

Hi Kat,

indeed ...I should go too if I were you .
If something is important enough you can a little more as normal .
If you take it easy when you can , try to minimize the sitting as much as you can etc..I don't see why you shouldn't follow your dreams ..
Life is for living !

Have a nice time

Kris
Bicyclist / IT guy / sitting allot
Then pain -- but only when sitting--
took me 3 years - nerve blocks etc to find out that it really was the surface of a chair that could help.. Now . After 5 years doing well -- on a special chair - special recumbent bike- special car - but ..almost without pain !!

My philosophy is, if you don't live your life through pain, you will still be in pain but will ALSO have no life. That philosophy has sustained me quite well these past 25 years of chronic pelvic pain syndromes :Happy to report I am in pain AND I have a life! GO!
pelvic pain started 1985 age 14 interstitial cystitis. Refused medical care from age 17, did GREAT with self care for years.
2004 PN started gradually, disabled by 2009. Underlying cause SIJD & Tarlov cysts
improved with PT & meds: neurontin, valium, nortriptyline, propanolol. (off nortriptyline & propanolol now, yay!)
Tarlov cyst surgery with Dr. Frank Feigenbaum March 20, 2012.
Results have been excellent so far; but I won't know my final functional level for a couple of years.
