nerve block without diagnosis ?
nerve block without diagnosis ?
so now that i cant have the potter mri im very confused on what to do ,my ob said that uconn hospital will do a nerve block but im concerned because for all they know its a diffrent nerve involved and ive heard of people getting worse .she also said more pt which i will do as long as insurance will cover it probably will . one symptom i dont have is more pain when sitting ,i have same pain if sitting or standing dosent matter .im scared to have block done my symptoms are a very deep pain high in pelvis burning and nife like ,abdominal sharp pains ,and a constant genital burn and nife like pains that move around not always in same place also left sided lower back pain .do u guys think its worth it to try a block ? this has been going on for a lil over a year after a uncomplicated vaginal delivery .also has anyone lost feeling during sex from nerve blocks? how did a block affect your sexlife ? i tried to ask this b4 and didnt get any answers .i can have a normal orgasm but after sex genital pain is worse for awhile and i always have ice packs ready .i guess im scared of getting worse from block or if i dont have pn and am dealing with a diffrent nerve then it being a waste of time .i appreciate your advice i could really use sum input thanks

Re: nerve block without diagnosis ?
If they can do a nerve block go for it.
I was hesitating getting one done in case it made things worse, but the stress created from not knowing and not having any kind of diagnosis, was worth the gamble.
I can't comment on any of the sex stuff, because have not attempted anything for over 18 months, just not worth it, and just don't feel 'exy' or interested anymore.

Chronic Pain pudendal area for 3 years, after a hard jolt to right side.
18 months later discovered sprained/fused sacro-illiac injury. Told to 'live with it' then saw this forum October 2011 = symptoms matched. Attempting to get this investigated in the face of lack of skilled docs in New Zealand.
Been told I have IC Dec 2011
FINALLY - 3T MRI in Christchurch 5th May 2012 - Pudendal nerve block, unguided 8th June 2012 - still waiting on results and progress from these.
