Just wondering if anyone has actually been to this doc? He is listed on the IPPS site, (international pelvic pain society). Someone on this site suggested him at one point to me. He does speaking engagements, is PN aware....
He does not do surgery of course, but may be a resource person for me in the midwest until I get my Potter MRI and make more decisions.

Potter MRI 04/2012 - Scar tissue/thickening at SS/ST, scar in Alcock canal -bilateral,
Hibner 6/12 suggests Botox (didnt do), 8/12 more pelvic PT w/ dry needling
Gabapentin 1800 mg, Lyrica 200 mg, 5mg valium, vicodin as needed
Trying to get rid of central sensitization burning pain in my legs, Valium seems to be helping
Looking into more mindfulness options. . . . .

I am looking for some doctor in Chicagoland who would be able to diagnose and help with the pain in the rectal and perineum.
I believe that the pain is due to some damaged nerves and want to get proper diagnosis till the time I plan to flay and see some doctor in other state as we don't have much options in IL.

Well my visit with Dr. Tu (Feb. 2012) was after I had 2 nerve blocks, and I pretty much knew I had PN, but didn't realize all of the scar tissue I had, and other mechanical issues. I didn't know all of that until I had my Potter MRI in April of this year.
I'm sorry I don't know your history? Can you tell me what your issues are, and what you have done so far? Have you tried pelvic floor PT?
There are some good therapists in the Chicago land area. Forgive me if I missed your history in another post.
Dr Tu is very friendly, and so is his staff. I asked him about how many PN patients he has had and he said about 6. I didn't think that was a very good amount of people considering he specialized in pelvic pain. However, there are many types of pelvic pain. Seeing as I have central sensitization pain, he referred me to another doctor in the Chicago area. She was a pain med specialist, and said she could do injections to help with my leg pain, perhaps. I wasn't to keen on that, so I didn't persue it. I felt if he was referring me, there wasn't much he could do for me. He did not order any tests, and I already had the nerve blocks done. In hind sight I could have skipped the visit. He did mention Dr. Hibner as being a very good doctor. So after I had the Potter MRI, I did visit Hibner for his opinion this June. He also suggested some other medications I could try. I do have a pain med doctor here where I live, and so that was the end of that. Dr. Tu does have an excellent reputation. My current pelvic floor PT has high regards for Tu, but said PN is not really his speciality.
I hope this helps, and I wish there was a doctor in the midwest that was really good in treating this, it's a pitty isn't it?

I just found your other post about your surgery. I understand more now, I feel terrible for you. You have surgery in hopes to correct a problem, make life better and now you have another painful problem.

Fall 2008. Misdiagnosed with lumber spine problem. MRN June 2010 indicated pudendal entrapment at Alcocks canal. Diagnosed with complex variant piriformis syndrome with sciatic, pudendal and gluteal entrapment's by Dr Filler 2010.Guided piriformis botox injection 2011 Bristol. 2013, Nerve conduction test positive; new spinal MRI scan negative, so diagnosed for the 4th time with pelvic nerve entrapment, now recognised as Sciatic, pudendal, PFCN and cluneal nerves at piriformis level.
