Surgery - Your experiences

Post by Karu »

Hello all,

I am a German woman suffering from PNE for four years now. I got the right diagnosis only 8 weeks ago. Before I saw many different doctors and nobody could diagnose anything.
I have nearly tried everything you could (taking pain pills, doing exercises and also doing Pudendus blocks etc.)...
Today I would like to ask you if you have any experiences with Pudendus Nerv Surgery? Has anybody of you had surgery in Europe? Did the surgery finally relieve your pain? Would you recommend to do it?

I would be very happy to hear your experiences....

Thank you very much in advance to sharing them.

Regards,
Karu

Hi Karu,

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, I had surgery in Europe from Dr. Bautrant in France. The recovery period was slow and difficult but now I am doing very well and very happy I had surgery. There are some risks associated with surgery though and some people don't improve so I think it is good to try other things first and make certain of your diagnosis before trying surgery. How did you respond to the pudendal nerve blocks? Did you have any pain relief, even for a few hours?

Best,

Violet
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Hello Violet,
thanks for your Feedback. With the pudendal nerve block I have had relief for about two hours.
I will not decide for surgery without thinking seriously about all pros and cons. I have read a lot about it and as you write there are also some people where surgery did not bring any relief.
For this reason I will be glad about anyone sharing his or her experiences with me.

Thank you and best regards,
Karu
