Bending

Post by Matt89 »

Hi everyone,

I've already asked that as a part of my opening post (maybe it was not appropriate there) so I re-post this question here because it is part of lifestyle adapations. On the main page it states that one should not "bend" too much. My question is therefor: Does bending the knees in a lying position (heads up) also count as that because of the change of the angle between thigh and torso? Or is the only relevant angle the one between torso and buttocks?

Thank you in advance!

Greetings,

Hi Matthias,
Welcome to the forum. Bending your knees when lying down may actually take some pressure off the nerve, works for me along with sometomes a roll pillow under the knees while I am at acupuncture. The bending is more problematic at the waist I think because you are then stretching the nerve along with reaching.

Matt, I often bent my knees when lying down because it seemed to take some pressure off the nerve and lower my pain levels temporarily. It didn't seem to bother me the same way that bending while standing did.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
