Very Confused and in Pain
Thanks in advance for reading. I am new here 47 y/o female and wondering if anyone has or had been experiencing similar issues. Basically, I developed a slowly progressing numbness/tingling in both my feet starting at my toes. I am, (was) a dancer so I attributed it to that and went about an active lifestyle due to negative nerve tests. About 9 months after the onset of that I woke up one day with severe pelvic pain, terrible urinary burning, strange vaginal issues, electric shock feelings etc. I’m about 6 years post op partial hysterectomy btw. After every test, I mean EVERY test under the sun including exploratory surgery of the bladder nothing was found but eventually a small labral tear in my right hip that I never felt. I am about 7 months into the pelvic dysfunction and every dr or specialist I see says my feet and pelvic issues are not related to the labral tear. I’m at a point where I’m seeing 3 different PTS, including pelvic floor, I have to walk with a cane because I can’t feel my feet, I’m falling all over the place and now I may have to have surgery on the tear that I was told will do nothing to address all these issues that have ruined my life. Anyone experience anything similar? I’m in the dr every 5 minutes and with COVID it’s all become so unbearable...I have been bed ridden for months, I have had shingles and now recovering from rib contusions from a fall. Thanks again for reading. I’m just so confused and prudential neuralgia has been poopooed to me, but it’s the only thing that I can find that ties this together. Of course, I thought I had IC, vulvodynia, fibromyalgia..all the differential diagnosis have been addressed to me but nothing actually makes sense in my situation.

Re: Very Confused and in Pain
Hi,
I don’t know too much about labels tears and PN except that some seem to have benefitted from surgery to repair them while others seem to have stated the same or worsened. I also think I remember reading that a significant percentage of women over 40 (I am about the same age as you) have labral tears and they often don’t cause issues. In my pelvic pain journey, I have learned that sometimes symptoms can be traced to a previously asymptomatic or undiagnosed spine issue. This can include a disc issue, adult tethered spinal cord, Tarlov Cysts, and others. If you haven’t had a lumbar MRI and a sacrum/tailbone MRI reviewed by a few different specialists, I suggest it since I have found that different doctors can see different things as significant. This could be the connection to your toes. Have you Googled a nerve root innervation chart of the feet and checked if you numbness lined up with a particular nerve root?

PN started 2004 from fall. Surgery with Filler Nov. 2006, Dr. Campbell April 2007. Pain decreased by 85% in 2008 (rectal and sitting pain resolved completely), pain returned in 12/13. Pain reduced significantly beginning around 11/23.
